Yeah I don't know that I could ever willingly bring myself to eat a chicken's foot or a pig's brain. I eat calves' brains when they serve them in restaurants in France. It's always a mooving experience.Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

If i want to re-tell it, is it a good joke or is it something that actually happened to someone I know?

A cynic might note that the overall effect seems like great publicity. Instead of complaining about shortages, people are going to celebrate the rarity of this brand.

Indeed - what a great marketing strategy! Similar to Classic Coke. Kudos to the one who came up with this...this...ah, damn. I hate advertising.- xongsmith, 5.7d

Indeed - what a great marketing strategy! Similar to Classic Coke. Interesting comparison. How much of the diluted bourbon actually got bottled and shipped?Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. They say it was a supply problem, that decreasing proof was their solution to increasing supply since they couldn't in the short term increase production. I'm curious if they really maintained taste while decreasing proof. I would have thought the concentration of alcohol a key component of taste, that consumers would have had to use more to maintain taste, and that therefore the supply problem would have remained unsolved.
My own suggestion is that they increase price until supply becomes sufficient. But I think their misstep will only make their supply problem worse. I've never had Maker's Mark before but will definitely order it next time out, and I assume I'm not alone. What drink should I order? --Percy

My own suggestion is that they increase price until supply becomes sufficient. Oh, they'll likely be doing that...
But I think their misstep will only make their supply problem worse. I've never had Maker's Mark before but will definitely order it next time out, and I assume I'm not alone. What drink should I order? It seems that the advertising campaign is working. You are going to order this supposed undiluted bouron the next time out, regardless of price! And then you are likely going to add water to it to boot! And I'll bet those 'limited edition' bottles of water bourbon are just flying off the shelves.
...on the rocks I'm told that fine diners never say "on the rocks, but instead say "over ice". Not that you deep imbibers need to pretend to be connoisseurs.Under a government which imprisons any unjustly, the true place for a just man is also in prison. What drink should I order? The first time just try it on the rocks. Let it sit until a layer of water has formed on the top (if you can't wait then have them add a splash of water). You can sip it slowly and pull some of the concentrated whisky through that watered-down layer. Not so much that its too strong, but enough that you can get a good sense of the flavors.

I would recommend a Makers Mark double with a Makers Mark back and a Makers Mark chaser with a twist of lime.'Qui non intelligit, aut taceat, aut discat' The mind is like a parachute.
