fallibility
I think you give ancient Jewish scholars too little credit. To them it is sacred. Not propaganda leaflets being cranked in high volumes. When they copied it, they payed attention to detail. They have an extensive tradition. They have enormous incentive to be meticulous. They had a literal caste in their society dedicated to the preservation of their theology and the teaching of it.
So fallible humans wrote an infallible text?

hard data
You know, I consider and have shown how much of what evos claim is pure hokum too, but that doesn't mean every piece of data is hokum. The fact is there is hard data for human beings of giant size. You guys just don't want to believe it.
Let's see the hard data.

need
I made it clear in earlier posts that this is not what I believe. I believe the original writing, by the orignal author, was inspired and that falliable man, meticulously copied it since then.
If god could inspire the writers of the bible, why can't he inspire all of us and there would be no need for the bible.
What good is an original that we do not have?

Re: need
Because in the Bible He indicates that it is meant to be read by us. According to the Bible, that is the manner in which He chose to instruct us. This does not prevent God inspiring us, so to speak. But that inspiration would not invalidate, nor conflict with the Bible.
So the bible is a source of inspiration?
shouldn't have to address statments like this one. We have copies. We do have the Bible. So it does have a useful purpose. I think your logic has broken down here. Let me challange you with a counter question. Why do we need the orignals?
You don't.
If the originals were the only one inspired and the rest are just copies made by men then the very bible you have in you hand is not true.

I'm not sure what you mean by this statement. Can you be more precise?
quote:If the originals were the only one inspired and the rest are just copies made by men then the very bible you have in you hand is not true.
This is not a logical statement.
If the bible is just a source of inspiration, then why does it need to be true?
Copiers make mistakes, so the bible you have must have mistakes.

fairly accurate
I provided a logical argument, based on evidence, for why the originals were preserved fairly accurately.
Basing your whole life on fairly accurate texts seems a bit problimatic.
There are phyical limits to the size of humans.
Has to do with gravity.
