I live in Northern WI. It is the same here. I love fishing. When I can't freeze to death. My wife's family ice fishes all the time. Her cousin pulls a $50,000 ice house/camper onto lakes in MN. I don't go because they don't like me but it is crazy. Her uncle ice fishes almost every day. I like to stay warm.

It is an excuse for intellectual laziness. If your viewpoint has merits and facts to back it up why would you have to lie?

My dad taught me to fly cast when I was a kid and I will treasure the time we spent together, but I invariably ended up messing around along shore looking for aquatic organisms other than fish.

We have a world class fly stream 15 mins from my house. I used to fly fish, but once I hit 55 it became to much if a slog. Now all the fishing I do is a Canadian fly in. Boat, motor, cabin. Perfect. If we fish we fish. If we drink we drink. If we nap we nap.

You will want to wait to last Sat in March when Steelhead season opens on the Brule. We have plenty of room. Would be incentive for me to go more. Oh yeah the river is pretty much frozen over right now. It is still flowing but inaccessible and lots of ice cover. Do you even know what an agnostic is? Gnosis is a Greek noun meaning knowledge. (Somewhere along the line, the 'g' seems to have morphed into a 'k'.) 'A' is is a general-purpose negative prefix that means 'not'. So 'agnostic' means 'not knowing'. How do you think somebody who admits to 'not knowing' about God would manage to hate God? WHY would an agnostic hate God? It's easy enough to hate Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin laden. There are reasons for hating them. But how can you hate somebody you don't know anything about? Somebody has told you that agnostics hate God but it doesn't make any sense. Didn't you think at all before you parroted that lie?

Ringo, you have no idea what the Bible says about death. You do not fully understand what death is. You are so unsure of yourself that you refuse to take a stand on the issue. You lack the courage of your conviction. It does not matter whether you believe what the Bible says about death or not. Phat stated that you understood the Bible, and compared to him, he could be right. But, if someone lacks the understanding of all that death constitutes, how in the world can they claim to understand anything the Bible says? I doubt that you will have the courage to state your conviction of the state of the dead. Most likely you will reply with some ridiculous comment about you having a cousin named Murray. Or that Hitler loved his dog. Or that 80-proof liquor is 40% alcohol.
