Women and the Fundamentalist View of Marriage

Haven't read the original thread, but I think I get the idea where this is going so I'll try and derail it right here.I am Christian but the Bible DOES contradict itself clearly when Jesus says something like 'truly there wouldn't be a new testemant if the old were not flawed'. I think this simply acknowledges that humans tamper with God's word 'telephone' style, and Jesus revamped it(it's obviously been tampered with yet again in the past 2000 years).Jesus constantly broke old testament rules; why else would the pharasees be on his back all the time? So if we just say, "yeah, the NT disagrees with OT sometimes" then we can move on to how Jesus treated all races and both sexes as equals despite his bigoted disciples. If we conclude that then there's no question that women can be equal to men because Jesus being the messiah has more say-so than any disciple.

That's a good question that calls for a very complicated answer that would send the whole thread off topic. Or just refresh yourself in your belief. If you repair a stone block with wood or wood with stone there will just be more problems. Also, if one decides he doesn't believe in Vishnu and Shiva, he can't just go ,"well, I guess I'm gonna believe in Allah now!"It's one thing to disagree with one religious doctrine, but if you believe in the Diety that goes with it then you can't just convince yourself to disbelieve so you can convert.Anyway, if you want to get more into the above statements it'd be best to start a new thread because this has nothing to do with women's rights.

That's fine, I didn't take you seriously; yelling obscenities is my typical reaction to anything somebody says. It's just that yours was only the 5th post or so that implied that I'm a kid or directly bitch slapped me with the 'you're so young' stick.
