How the mighty do fall into evilspeak ad hominems when their happy little utopia has been shown to be the cesspool it really is. Such nobility of mind. Perfect example of the kind of moral rottenness that is taking over this country. I refuse to discuss my personal situation with you but be advised I'd rather not have to have any help from government. But it isn't Welfare.

The sheer evil rampant on this thread is apparently not even noticed by many here. Such tolerance, such loving concern for your fellow man. And I'm including that evil article comparing the OT law against shrimp, which WAS part of the ceremonial law that applied only to Israle, with God's moral law which rules the entire universe and condemns homosexuality. But we aren't even objecting to people living as they please. THEY are objecting to Christians obeying our conscience. Absolutely unheard of in a free society until now. Total collapse of civilization in microcosm at EvC.

How can YOU not understand that Christians obey God and God tells us that homosexuality is sin and that marriage is for a man and a woman? That's embedded in our conscience and you should know that and they certainly know it because their whole strategy is to force us to renounce it or be severely punished. Shades of the Inquisition: recant your belief or die. You'd of course be happy if we died, as you just said in [Msg=853]. This is no longer America when someone can say such a thing on a public forum.\\\

Of course I wouldn't support it, I oppose gay marriage. THe point is that if society goes that way it's possible to live with it except that they won't let us live with it. They are determined to force us to choose between our conscience and their misguided idea of their rights, and punish us for standing on our conscience.

You are equating Christian behavior with the outrageous behavior of the LGBT crowd against Christians?> And what behavior might that be? You mean daring to insist on our First Amendment rights to obey our conscience? The only thing lower than whale excrement here is that evil opinion.

Some day it will be clear that it is you and other supporters of the LGBT gang of bullies who are the Nazis in today's world.

It IS punishment to prohibit Christians from running a business. And stop mischaracterizing the situation. The ONLY service that is refused is anything that validates gay marriage, NOT general services to homosexuals as such. Blech, the mentality here is disgusting.

Some laws are evil and must be disobeyed. To require people to obey them against their conscience is EVIL.

Wow, another reversal of truth. THEY are the ones not leaving Christians alone. Do try to follow the argument here. THEY are setting Christians up for punishment. THEY are the perpetrators here, aided and abetted by our sick Supreme Court. Christians are doing nothing but minding our own business and here they come forcing us to accept something God says we cannot accept.
But that's all right, I've been looking for a way out of this madhouse. I think I've had enough.

That is misunderstood. Nobody is required to obey a law that opposes God's law. If the Nazi government orders you to shoot Jews you are not required to.

Amazing how unbelievers feel free to tell believers what the Bible means, and then accuse us of picking and choosing when we explain what we know it means. Really amazing.
Here's a reference for what I already said: The apostles are called before the high priest who was law to the Jews in Jerusalem and told they couldn't preach Jesus any more:
Acts 5:29Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

How is it a matter for your conscience, though, if in the scenario I proposed, the law exempts Christians from having to bake the wedding cake etc ? How does their getting married impact your conscience ? That wouldn't be a problem for our conscience, but as I said I still couldn't vote for any law that supports gay marriage -- that WOULD be against my conscience. If such a law gets passed anyway, which by the way would be against the vast majority of the people who have supported the many gay marriage bans in most of the states that the evil sick unconstitutional Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional -- if such a law got passed anyway, I say, which exempted Christian businesses from having to provide services for gay marriages, that would protect us from the violations of our First Amendment rights that is going on now. It would be a big improvement. Nevertheless a Christian couldn't vote for gay marriage under any circumstances. Edited by Faith, : No reason given. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

I see peaceful protests, I see mention of someone receiving a letter, I see prolife advocates protesting police harassment, I see absolutely nothing that shows the prolifers behaving as you claim they do:
trash clinics, get laws passed closing down clinics, shout obscene things at pregnant women trying to visit the clinics? Evidence of them "trashing clinics" please, or of "shouting obscene things at pregnant women." Getting laws passed by legal means is not an offense unless they violate a higher law, and you didn't provide evidence of that anyway. Abortion is murder, jar, just another reversal of good and evil in once-Christian America. Edited by Faith, : No reason given.

Apparently the "young adults" are being brainwashed. Why does their vote count more than the votes of the rest of us? In any case that doesn't change the fact that the many gay marriage bans expressing the popular viewpoint that have passed in a vast majority of the states have been unconstitutionally disqualified by the evil sick unconstitutional Supreme Court.
