You've sunk to a depth o f unimaginable evil.
Really?
You don't get to cry foul to me anymore.
It IS punishment to prohibit Christians from running a business.
A Christian, like anybody else, can run any business, uninhibited. They just have to, like every other single businees, provide their services to everyone and not discriminate against a protected class of people.
That is very simple and non-discriminatory and in no way a punishment towards Christians or anybody.
Its the same across the board. For all.
The ONLY service that is refused is anything that validates gay marriage, NOT general services to homosexuals as such.
What you are referring to as "refusing to validate" gay marriage, is unconstitutional and illegal. If a business must do that, then they cannot offer their services to the public. It doesn't matter what religion it is for or what the act is, denying service to a protected class is unconstitutional and illegal.
Blech, the mentality here is disgusting.
That's your fault.

What business is it of yours what other people do?
Who appointed you to enforce god's laws?
Why don't you just leave other people alone, eh?

Wow, another reversal of truth. THEY are the ones not leaving Christians alone. Do try to follow the argument here. THEY are setting Christians up for punishment. THEY are the perpetrators here, aided and abetted by our sick Supreme Court. Christians are doing nothing but minding our own business and here they come forcing us to accept something God says we cannot accept.
But that's all right, I've been looking for a way out of this madhouse. I think I've had enough.

They are determined to force us to choose between our conscience and their misguided idea of their rights, and punish us for standing on our conscience.
How is it a matter for your conscience, though, if in the scenario I proposed, the law exempts Christians from having to bake the wedding cake etc ? How does their getting married impact your conscience ?

Could there be any greater conceit, than for someone to believe that the universe has to be simple enough for them to be able to understand it ?

Some laws are evil and must be disobeyed. To require people to obey them against their conscience is EVIL.
Nots so.
Romans 13:1-7 states, Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience. This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Do you see now? God is telling you to obey the secular law of the land.
Or is that part of the Bible you do not follow?
Edited by Larni, : No reason given.

The above ontological example models the zero premise to BB theory. It does so by applying the relative uniformity assumption that the alleged zero event eventually ontologically progressed from the compressed alleged sub-microscopic chaos to bloom/expand into all of the present observable order, more than it models the Biblical record evidence for the existence of Jehovah, the maximal Biblical god designer.

Some laws are evil and must be disobeyed.
Now that is crossing over to barbarism.
And as Larni points out: You're directly disobeying the Bible.
To require people to obey them against their conscience is EVIL.
You could just not offer your services to the public. Perhaps open up a private bakery that only serves who you allow. Or you could lie about why you're "can't" make the cake - just don't tell people to their face that you are refusing services to them because of a protected class they belong to.
Nobody is making anybody do anything. All they are doing is disallowing you to discriminate. Is it really against your conscience to not discriminate? Is that what Jesus taught?
But what you said is stupid in another way: Anybody could claim any law is against their conscience and then call it evil.

The Pro Life nutjobs
Faith, how can you complain about what happened related to the bakery in light of the general behavior of all the pro life nutjobs who trash clinics, get laws passed closing down clinics, shout obscene things at pregnant women trying to visit the clinics?
How is the LGBT groups behavior different than the pro life nutjobs behavior?

Anyone so limited that they can only spell a word one way is severely handicapped!

That is misunderstood. Nobody is required to obey a law that opposes God's law. If the Nazi government orders you to shoot Jews you are not required to.

Amazing how unbelievers feel free to tell believers what the Bible means, and then accuse us of picking and choosing when we explain what we know it means. Really amazing.
Here's a reference for what I already said:
The apostles are called before the high priest who was law to the Jews in Jerusalem and told they couldn't preach Jesus any more:
Acts 5:29Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

That wouldn't be a problem for our conscience, but as I said I still couldn't vote for any law that supports gay marriage -- that WOULD be against my conscience.
If such a law gets passed anyway, which by the way would be against the vast majority of the people who have supported the many gay marriage bans in most of the states that the evil sick unconstitutional Supreme Court has declared unconstitutional -- if such a law got passed anyway, I say, which exempted Christian businesses from having to provide services for gay marriages, that would protect us from the violations of our First Amendment rights that is going on now. It would be a big improvement. Nevertheless a Christian couldn't vote for gay marriage under any circumstances.
