Poems now? Got to love that teenager angst - you should save those posts - will give you a good giggle in a few years.

Thanks I have - I've traveled the global for both business and pleasure and spent a year in south america working on a number of community projects.
Where was it you'd been again?

oh dear - you really are off in fantasy land if you think life in america is particularly representive of the rest of the world.
Here's your starter for ten:
quote:
Most of his address was concerned about health issues, and during a subsequent question and answer session he was unwilling to tailor his remarks to the predilections of Business Week chairman of events Scott Shuster, who was serving as moderator.
At one point, Shuster pressed Gates about the viability of the market of people who make less than $1 a day. Gates paused, and said that this was "not a significant market" before addressing the comment more directly.
"Do people have a clear idea of what it means to make $1 a day?" Gates said. "There is no electricity. No power systems. These people are trying to stay alive. There is no need for a PC."
When Shuster mentioned solar power as a possibility Gates became even more agitated, saying solar power was not affordable at that level. Shuster then talked about CEOs who "get it" with regard to the Internet, and stated that Gates -- if these "health first" comments were any indication -- didn't "get it."
"I've never been a 'get it' kind of guy," Gates said. "But I get there are other things these people need other than technology."

I have decided to only make short profound utterances for the rest of the thread.

Re: what? dont jump to conclusions
Yep - make the most of it before you end up in the ground (or like the last pope - wandering around in the dark going "hello? hello? anyone there?"
I support Troy and Brian's suggestion - go out, give someone a good seeing to (or get someone to give you a good seeing to) and see if it lightens your mood.

Chris - I've got to ask this and it's an honest question - are you on some form of medication or undergoing treatment for mental health issues?

No he doesn't seem insane - having mental health issues does not equal insane.
BUT the more I read of Chris's stuff, it reminds me of kids I have taught who did have mental health issues.

Well your posts seem a cry for help and you seem to be a depressive - either than or just you are an average whiny teenager.
Since it's not the first - I don't have to moderate my answers to you because I'm worried you'll hang yourself out of your bedroom.
Does that answer your question?
(BTW if I had made an assumption I would have assumed you had mental health issues and never asked).

I'm not a teacher anymore - but even if I was, we don't have any say or interesting in the provision of drug regimes to people.
My point was that your posts reminded me of the writing of students who I knew had mental health issues - if they were on meds or not is a matter for them and their doctor.

And scraf the difference between me and you is that I'm not going to conform to society and after college I will do it full time.
Ah yes...seen this before. "I'll just take this graduate job for a bit and then I'll stick it to the man!"

Let's face it - no regular reader is going to mistake that for one of your utterances.
The quote is about right (And Phat - I will do some teacher stories tomorrow!)

This book:
To Heal a Fractured World: The Ethics of Responsibility

covers (I think) similar ground - I may pick up a copy this week and will post a review if I do.

Generally - but my topics are longer and when I see something that interests me such as a discussion I had with holmes about information a while back.
I'm more of a lurker those days.....
