Terms have meaning Faith
You do understand that seeking damages in a civil suit is not a fine don't you?

Re: Terms have meaning Faith
I have no idea of excoriating or vilifying you but as usual I will try to help and educate you. When you provide a link to support some position you have taken it is often a good idea to actually read your source. For example reading the link would have let you know your source proved there was no fine and that there are Christians that support same sex marriage.

LOL
He does not just call himself a Christian but is a Christian and working to support Freedom of Speech and Christian Charity.
If homosexuality is a sin then it can be judged by God and God can be asked why She created homosexuals if She planned on condemning them.
It is not up to you our your Chapter of Club Christian to decide what is or is not a sin except when it concerns the behavior of you Chapter of Club Christian.

He belongs to a Christian Evangelical organization that supports same sex marriage.
If the suit is a civil suit there will be no fines. Fines are involved only in criminal cases. If the couple have been found guilty of discrimination in a criminal case then there could be fines but so far I have seen no evidence there was a criminal case.

Paul was an asshole and fanatic
You need to remember that Paul was always a fanatic and pretty much an asshole who never even met Jesus.

So Faith ,,,
Again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk", or "You can have a drink of water as long as you don't drink from the white faucet" or "Help wanted, no Irish need apply" or ""You can come in as long as you don't use the front door"?
How does a cake validate a marriage?
Inquiring minds want to know?

Re: While you are in actually answering mode ...
Lol
How is that different than the other examples. They were a matter of the supporters conscience.
So once again Faith, how are the examples different?

Question Faith
Again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk" or "You can drink the water but not from the White faucet" or "No Jews need apply" ot "Help wanted. no Irish need apply" or "You can use the outhouse but not the indoor toilet" ?
How does a cake validate a marriage?
Any answers Faith?

Re: Question Faith
Sorry Faith but that is simply not true and any honest person would agree that you have not answered the questions asked.
Faith writes:
Anything that forces a person to act against their conscience is unconstitutional.
Maybe in Faith's New Think but not in reality.
Businesses cannot discriminate.
If the bakers were not a business and did not charge for cakes then they might have a case; but they were a business and did charge for their services.
Again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk" or "You can drink the water but not from the White faucet" or "No Jews need apply" or "Help wanted. no Irish need apply" or "You can use the outhouse but not the indoor toilet" ?

Re: Jefferson on taxation is a similar principle
LOL
We are no longer living in the 18th and 19th Century nor is it legal to own slaves anymore.
AbE:
You may find laws abhorrent and even tyrannical but they are still the Laws of the Land and you must obey them or suffer the consequences.
An Business do not have the right to discriminate.
If the folk were not a business selling cakes then they might have a leg to stand on. If they are selling cakes, even out of their house (which would likely be simply adding additional criminal activities), they still could not refuse to bake a wedding cake for a same sex marriage.
And yet again, how does a cake validate a marriage?
How is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk" or "You can drink the water but not from the White faucet" or "No Jews need apply" or "Help wanted. no Irish need apply" or "You can use the outhouse but not the indoor toilet" ?

and fear of more Puritan and Calvinist oppression was the driving force for the First
And it was the general fear of the Puritans and Calvinists and their history of discrimination and oppression of other Christian sects as well as non Christians that was the main driving force for adding the First Amendment. In particular their behavior in New England and Maryland were major factors.

Re: Congratulations to the Devil!
Once again, not quite true as usual Faith.
Take a law of God and criminalize it so that anyone who obeys it is a criminal.
Bullshit Faith.
No individuals are forced to recognize or endorse, or validate or even acknowledge a same sex marriage.
Companies though cannot discriminate even when the discrimination stems from their personal belief.

Re: Congratulations to the Devil!
Melissa Klein can still make all the wedding cakes she wants and even refuse to bake cakes only for one eyed leppers with big ears.
But Millissa Klein and a company, a business, are two different entities entirely. A business cannot say "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" or "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk" or "You can have a drink of water as long as you don't drink from the white faucet" or "Help wanted, no Irish need apply" or ""You can come in as long as you don't use the front door"?
