You will be free to remain as ignorant as you wish.
Faith writes:
Just out of curiosity, what should be done with those of us who will go on saying that homosexuality is a sin that will be punished by God if the person doesn't repent and turn to Christ, and that gay marriage is a violation of God's laws that can only bring His judgment against a nation? Or any form of preaching the gospel of Christ and Biblical truth in the public square for that matter. According to your way of construing all this will we continue to have that right or be punished for it?
Of course you will continue to be as stupid as you wish. The evidence for that is overwhelming. Roman Catholics are still free to not recognize marriage between divorced couples, to deny marrying people that are not both Roman Catholic. You can be as silly and bigoted as you wish.
Remember Fred Phelps, a good Christian, was free to continue spewing utter nonsense and his family continues to have such freedom.
Faith writes:
And by the way, it isn't just my opinion, "Sex" always meant male and female. It's been replaced by the wrong term "gender" which may be the cause of the confusion. It means male and female, period, it has nothing to do with the subjective stuff concerning sexuality.
No one has denied that male and female are descriptors of human sexes, and no one is trying to change that. When two males marry one does not become a woman; when two women marry one does not become a male.
Of course in reality there are far more than just two sexes in nature.

Of course you will remain free to rail against the courts.

You will be free to walk the sidewalk.
Faith writes:
But we can't run businesses if we won't provide services for gay marriage. Will we be allowed to walk on the sidewalks or can LGBTs shove us into the gutter as Muslims do?
You will be able to walk the sidewalks but you will not be free to discriminate.

as absurd as that suggestion is
Even though the tradition in what became the US was of Protestant Christian discrimination I would of course stand beside you when anyone came to your churches to get your pastors arrested for simply preaching short of exhortation of violence.

try evidence or reason Faith
You have not yet explained how a cake can validate a marriage.

learn a little history Faith
Learn a little history Faith.
Woolworth allowed blacks to do just about everything in their store except eat at the counter. They could shop, spend money, buy food to go, just about anything except sit at the White Counter.
BUT... you still have not offered any reasoning to support a cake validating a marriage.
I support your right to be an ignorant evil bigot but that does not mean you can break the law.

Re: learn a little history Faith
Woolworth decided to open the counter to everyone.
And until you can explain how a cake validates a marriage of course the baker was discriminating against persons.
You are of course free to break any law but please stop whining when you are subject to the penalties.

is one of these things not like the others?
Faith, how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk"?

Re: learn a little history Faith
But in the bakery instance there has been no penalty, just whining.
Nor have you shown any reasoning to claim there is any injustice except for the bakers discrimination and bigotry.
You still have presented no reasoning or support for your claim that a cake validates a marriage.

Re: is one of these things not like the others?
Well it has not been made clear Faith or people would not still be asking you for any support for your position.
So again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk"?
How does a cake validate a marriage?

The only penalty there is the fine and as I explained, when you break the law you should not wine about the penalties.
The other things are not penalties at all.
But where is there an unjust penalty?

If I were a baker? Sure, why not?
In the Us we do have freedom of speech, even vile, evil speech.
But that is just another example of you trying to palm the pea and misdirect attention.
So again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk"?

LOL
And no one has suggested you stop complaining. You do have freedom of speech in the US, even really silly speech.
So again; how is saying "You can buy anything but a wedding cake" different than saying "You can buy anything in the store except at the white counter" or "You can ride anywhere on the bus as long as you don't sit in the front with the white folk"?

LOL
No Faith, I am just a person who believes in Freedom of Speech, particularly speech I most disagree with. That is not being a hypocrite.
Faith writes:
You obviously have no conscience or you have a really perverted one.
No Faith, supporting freedom of speech is not perversion.
AbE:
Faith, the speech you agree with does not need to be supported; it is the speech you most disagree with that you should stand up and support.
Although I believe the greatest threat to the US and the world to day is fundamental Christianity, particularly Calvinism, I would oppose any attempt to silence them.

It was also interesting that according to Faith's link it is a Christian couple who support same sex marriage that are trying to raise money to pay any potential costs the bakers may face.
