These religious people are weird:
The suffering inflicted by Israel on the Palestinian people shows that it has forgotten the Jewish scriptures, Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu said on Saturday. I wonder if he knows what the Jewish scriptures actually say. I wonder if he knows what the Anglican scriptures actually have to say (especially the first part).

What's so funny about this? Do the Jewish scriptures not depict the Israelites as having sufferage brought upon them?Tutu (if you read up about him) is quite the humanitarian. Especially considering the area he works in.

A few years ago I listened to a radio interview with Sister Helen Prejean, the anti-death penalty activist nun portrayed in Dead Man Walking.She said that when she does radio talk shows in the American South, many Christians call to disagree, and they invariably quote the Old Testament.To paraphrase, she said:"These people are Christians.In the New Testament, Christ tells them there is a new covenant, and that killing is wrong.But they cling instead to the Old Testament, because it gives them a license to kill."

I agree with you on Tutu. The funny part is that he was under the impression that the Jewish Holy Books are the same as the Anglican one's.
