Green Lantern question
If a Peirson's Puppeteer joins the Lantern Corps, as was presented in Green Lantern: Ganthet's Tale, where does he wear the ring?

Re: Green Lantern question
However, I would assume he will wear it on one of his legs (or whatever those bottom appendages are).
Seems like it would fall off, there. Oh, well, I just thought I'd ask.
Hey, I remember reading a few of your posts that you play D & D and M:TG; do you still?
No, but only because there's no one around to play with. Mostly I play World of Warcraft, these days, and that pretty much meets my quota of dungeon delving.

Re: The Formula
It seems to me that ridiculing people's most fundamental beliefs is hardly reasoned argument.
And on the exact other side of the coin, I don't understand the rationale that, unlike all other stupid ideas, stupid ideas about something called "God" are to be granted the deepest respect and deference. Why are religious ideas priviledged?
We all laugh when people talk about pink unicorns and spaghetti monsters, because those are silly things to believe in. I don't see why beliefs about God are supposed to be considered any less silly simply because the people who promulgate those ideas are, hilariously, totally serious about them.
Why is your brand of bullshit so much more special than any other bullshit? I don't get it.

I rest my case.
And you just proved mine.

Re: The Formula
I mean, if you see nothing at all offensive with comparing God to "spaghetti monsters" it's fine as long as the owners of the board are okay with it.
A delusional person who was absolutely convinced that they were the historical Napoleon might also be offended when we tell him that he's wrong.
What nobody can seem to explain to me is why it's ok, why it's considered no big deal, to point out that Napoleon-guy's beliefs are delusions and rather silly ones at that; but the equally silly beliefs of theists are off-limits. I don't understand the inconsistency.

Re: The Formula
The question I asked, though, is do you want there to be Napoleon-imitators around to argue with? Or not?
I couldn't care less. And somehow, I doubt that there's any shortage of the deluded.

Re: Rudeness
But in the majority of threads there is someone like crashfrog that will come in with the tooth fairy thing, (which is insulting to all people of faith whether they are YEC or not), and the whole tone of the thread changes.
Well, I've never come in with any tooth fairies, so I'm not sure what you're talking about; but if what you're saying is that you have no problem asserting that the beliefs of others are ridiculous while yours, predicated on the same lack of evidence and consistency, are to be held as inviolable, why should we treat that level of intellectual dishonesty with respect?
Haven't you just insulted everybody who believes in the tooth fairy? Aren't you guilty, then, of exactly what you're complaining about? Why should we treat your beliefs with respect if you refuse to grant the same courtesy to others?

Re: Rudeness
Why don't you get off your highhorse, Crashfrog? Your beliefs are just as inviolable as everybody else's.
No, actually, I've made the case several times, with no successful rebuttals, that agnostic atheism is the conclusion that is most reasonable and best supported by the evidence.
On the other hand, the best the believers can seem to do is assert "hey, all belief is equally unsupported, so just believe what you want to believe." Well, no. There's reasons to conclude atheism; the fact that there is no good reason to conclude theism is a prominent, celebrated aspect of that belief - they call it "faith."
Please . . . total nonsense.
Yes, absolutely. So what's the difference between tooth fairy nonsense and God nonsense? Why do people like you treat one with derision and one with respect, when they're the same thing? Why the inconsistency?
