I would never look at internet porn...
Ah and where have we heard those words before? Let us be really honest with ourselves here and confirm what nearly every women already knows. Men, to whatever degree have an interest in porn of some sorts.
Most men, particularly when they first connect up to the internet, spend ages searching for good porn sights and find it exciting that there is such a wide choice of porn available on the internet - and all for free !!!!
Part of my job is providing cleaning services to PC equipment at companies. This is very straight forward and in the main consists of getting rid of cluttered up files and junk and often re format/re install windows where over time machines have become cluttered with junk.
On almost every occassion where limited firewalls are present, with little more than a 20 second search, I find that the majority of computers used by the men have porn of one sort or another listed on their files. Often this extends to evidence of porn diallers, stored images and history of regular visits to porn sites.
Now Im not saying that women dont look at porn because they do but it is very much a man thing which is also obvious by the way the porn sites advertise their services. As a man I find this interesting and am also guilty of having spent my early internet days looking at some of these sites - erm...for research purposes you understand..
Nowadays the porn sites really annoy the hell out of me. Why? Purely because they have become boring, when you have seen one you have seen them all.....they force porn diallers and use fraudulent tricks to try and get people to download their diallers that will cost people money unwittingly. Now I dont get caught out by porn diallers but I do get the occassional pop up. The pop ups are the worst. Often page after page opening up, often in full window in rapid succession. This is being forced upon us.
Its time the porn industry got wise to the fact that more and more people are now ignoring their sites and using all manner of different types of software to avoid them purely because of their con tactics designed to attract customers in the first place.
As time moves on and with pop up stoppers, filters etc the numbers of people visiting the porn sites will start to decrease. How can I be sure of this? As many people become more used to the internet and how it works and more familiar with the tricks of the porn sites they become resentful and annoyed at being taken for a ride ( excuse the choice of words ) and treated like idiots by sad individuals thinking that they are getting more hits by operating their adult sites in this desperate way. In actual fact if they studied their site statistics they might be surprised to find and wonder why most of their hits show a visit duration of under 5-10 seconds.
Thats about as long as it takes to shut the window down !!!

Microsoft?
Thats a bit like saying that it was Ford who put the accelerator and steering wheel on a car. It doesn't mean you have to be a bad driver. In the porn case it doesnt mean you have to action multiple pop ups in quick succession just to try and force the issue on people.
Exploitation of existing tools and in this case software is common practice.
safe makers and alarm companies are always struggling to keep up with technology and make improvements in the same way as Microsoft make updates available to try and correct these issues.
Virus Tools are constantly under development to provide better protection and car makers strive for better safety.
All this doesnt mean that in the event of a criminal activity or someone exploiting a tool or piece of software that they are ultimately responsible. Just because Russian Mafia exploit the internet doesnt mean that the internet should be closed down or someone sued.
The attitude of ' Who can I sue today ' will not do anyone any good and will inhibit the release of new technology rather than enhance it.
