we have the originals, God promised to prreserve His word.
And the words are all English and sound sort of Shakspearian, right?
That's idiotic, Arch.

we know that nothing is too hard for God thus putting His original words into english or any language to preserve them is not that difficult for Him especially when He wants all men to be saved.
So which of the dozens of English translations is it that preserves these "original words?" And how are these "original words" the same in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and English as well as in Turkish, Tagalog, and Tahitian? Are you telling me that ALL of those "preserve" the precise same meaning of "emerod" or "unicorn?" And those two are just the easy nouns.......
Added by edit - I did not see the previous post before mentioning unicorns in this one. Praise be to the Invisible Pink Unicorn!!! Holy are Her Hooves!

Who gets to define a good Bible translation, John? You? The Pope? Buzsaw? Archaeologist?

Re: Please pick & choose to find if God's plan of salvation in Christ Jesus is different?
I wanna see some examples of bad Bible translations next. Is the Brick Testament one? It's pretty literal, and may be even more popular with children than the GNT! Joshua 5:2-8 particularly!

Re: Please pick & choose to find if God's plan of salvation in Christ Jesus is different?
It's the denomination of all Believers down through the ages that have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, both OT saints who looked forward to the coming Messiah and NT saints who look back to His death, burial, resurrection and exaltation to the right hand of God the Father.
That's preaching, not discussion.

Re: Those who are being saved.
Being a product of Western civilization your sense of outrage, I am pretty sure, is fueled by moral senses you derived from the Bible.
Jaywill, find me a culture anywhere in the world that has no "moral senses" resembling those "derived from the Bible," even with no exposure to that book. (Like you could still find an untainted culture these days....) I am pretty sure that both Nuggin's and my sense of outrage is fuelled by the morals derived from being social animals living in quite complex societies.
And yes, I was a missionary brat raised immersed in a Presbyterian environment. But I got over that, and can recognize that !Kung and Dolgans have moral codes just like I do.

Re: Those who are being saved.
The God character starts negotiating, backing off a bit but Abe stays on his case.
Am I somehow morally deficient because I imagine Charlton Heston and Mel Brooks doing that dialogue?
