Any luck yet?
You guys had any luck with confirming Jesus' bloodline to David, or are you happy to concede that there is not one?

Re: Quote mining?
No credible Bible scholar would accept your POV on the Davidic Covenant here.
Just so I can get things straight here Buz.
Are you saying that no credible Bible scholar would say that the Nathan prophecy states that God promised David that his house (dynasty) would last forever even though the prophecy clearly states this?
" 'The LORD declares to you that the LORD himself will establish a house for you 2 Sam 7:11
The 'house' in this quote refers to a Davidic dynasty, are you sure that no credible Bible scholar would agree with me here?

My first objection
Have we found Jesus' bloodline to David yet?

Re: Whose Interpretation Contradicts?
Brians points have been approached and dealt with, even if not to his satisfaction.
My very first objection, the Davidic bloodline, has not been dealt with to anyone's satisfaction.

Re: Why I know Jesus was a success
We are our own messiahs.
When you escape your world of circular reasoning you will understand this.

Re: Why I know Jesus was a success
What you think is "circular reasoning" will come to an end when Jesus returns according to Acts 1:11,
We get told this everytime there's a disaster or a war or terrorist attack, people have been told this every few decades for the last 2000 years, it simply isn't going to happen, the guy was no messiah.
While you are here, since no one has explained my first point, the bloodline of David, why don't you have a go at solving that major obstacle instead of firing out meaningless garbage from God's Big Book of Fairytales?

Re: Why I know Jesus was a success
Yes, the New Testament will always be used to show how God has fulfilled most of the promises/prophesies He made in the Old Testament, and those that are yet to be fulfilled.
And so we are back to the circular reasoning and self delusion required to accept Jesus.
And back to the fact that Jesus did not fulfil a single prophecy.
Anyway, thanks for the input, it wasn't totally useless, but it certainly didn't do Jesus' case any good.
And in true John 10:10 (good buddy) fashion: Stay away from a foolish man, for you will not find knowledge on his lips.

Re: Why I know Jesus was a success
get your point but one book by one author is a lot less impressive than the group of books that the Bible is.
So, a group of unknown authors sit with books written centuries before and scribe their books to tally with these books and this is impressive in some way?
