How beautiful is life?

So basically, your argument for an afterlife goes as such:1) Shit happens.
2) Wouldn't it be nice if we were paid back for all that shit happening, in the afterlife?
3) Therefore, shit happening is evidence of an afterlife.That isn't evidence by any stretch of the imagination :S(First post! Yay!)

Heh heh, a little off topic...but I think that I'd be considered an agnostic or an atheist...but to be realistic, I haven't a clue whether or not a God exists. For the most part, at this point in my life, I don't much care - however, I haven't found any evidence for His (assuming He's male, of course ) existence as of yet. I'm not going to find and stick to a philosophy or religion at only 17, I'm too young and stupid.

Can't say that I'm on either side, although you could say I leaned towards the first. I don't really care for what I call Fundy Atheists ("HA HA GO WORSHIP YOUR IMAGINARY BIG MAN IN THE SKY CHRISTIAN-BOY!").Read an article in National Geographic (I think) that talked about how religion could have evolved as an advantageous way of causing people to group together. Been taking all my classes at the local community college since the beginning of this year (my junior year at high school), and I'm currently working on a two-year associate transfer degree in Science (Engineering). Yes, but what "should" happen is hardly evidence. I think that aliens "should" come and give me new alien technology, but that doesn't count as evidence for aliens

For the same reason atheists do.

For the sake of doing good - the rewards of heaven are really just a nice bonus/incentive
