What is the title of your poem Chris?
"Musings of a bigot" maybe?

Re: >?
Well, you say this:
Jesus Christ couldn't change us
Gandhi couldn't change us
Mohammed couldn't change us
Buddha couldn't change us.
Your bigotry is obvious when you put Jesus top f the list when he really should come after Buddha.
But the most glaring example is here:
What makes you think you can do a better job than Jesus Christ?
To avoid being a bigot you should have included the earlier guys as well.
What makes you think that you can do a better job than Jesus Christ, Gandhi, Mohammad, or Buddha. That would have been the non-bigotted thing to do.
Also, I don't see a dead Palestinian in there.
Brian.

Re: >?
No idea what you are on about Chris. Maybe you should stay away from those theologians, they are a strange lot.

Re: what? dont jump to conclusions
Gee, I wonder if you actually want there to be lots of suffering in the world so that someone even cares about an afterlife.
This is a good point, and one that has helped to spread the Christian faith. Christianity IMO could be summed up very neatly to people by saying to them 'Okay, life is pretty shitty right now, but believe in the guy who conquered death and you can have a better time in the afterlife." It must sound very tempting to people in the Third World countries.
Which is quite a coincidence when you consider that the only countries were Christianity is growing is in third world coutries whose population are essentially uneducated and don't know if they will be alive in a minute's time. In the more advanced nations, Christianity is dying on its arse.
Brian.

Re: what? dont jump to conclusions
As for comfort in the midst of tragedy, some of us need more than the belief that we are the winners of a huge cosmic lottery and have no real significance in the same universe that we claim to be gaining understanding over.
But, even in Christianity, what real significance do we have? We can only have a limited influence on alimited number of people. Some have influence over more than others, but what real significance does an idividual have?
Brian.

Re: what? dont jump to conclusions
So you think that atheists have a worthless existence and you are happy to be nothing more than a puppet for this God?
At least we do good for the sake of doing good, and not for the hope of some eternal reward.
The thought of helping someone just for the sake of helping them must be a strange suggestion to a Christian.
Brian.

And what 'bonus' or 'incentive' does an atheist have?
