If women are so low in the bible, why did Christ treat them so equally?
Remember the prostitute? Or the Samarian woman?
Besides this, one who is christian must ask "what would Christ do?". We can only conclude that we must also treat women equally.

Re: To answer your preguntas
Can you quote where the living word says the woman is below the man?

Re: To answer your preguntas
Nah - you're not a moron, you just aren't a bible basher like me.
I set you up anyway, just to test your New Testament knowledge. Sorry dude - Im a naughty boy.
It may seem like picking and chosing what you want to hear. But in some cases we have no choice. I think most christians would listen to Christ before anyone else, when Christ talked with the samarian woman, his disciples were outraged, the same disciples that would write those latter books.
If you read Christ's words and actions you will see that all the other books are almost second to his teachings (to me atleast, anyway). He himself in some cases, said not to adhere to some things in the Old Testament anymore. And in Acts the Gentiles are not required to follow the law.
"You have heard in times past that it should be an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, but now I say turn the other cheek, bless them that curse you" (similar words).

Homophobic christians beware
Mike, since I am not a "bible basher" like you, I would like to hear what you have to say about what Jesus thought about homosexuality.
Lam, in my year here at the forum I have made exactly one statement about homosexuality and it was to Crashfrog. Basically I deduce that there is nothing in the bible to suggest that it is out and out wrong. In Leviticus - it only mentions lust and "confusion". As for Jesus, I can't remember him saying anything about it.
I choose not to be prejuduced against people or judge a particular attribute they have. Basically, I can only throw you an opinion about homosexuality because of the lack of input in scripture, which even then leaves me uncomfortable because I don't want to run the risk of judging people. So here goes:
Basically, I have nothing against gay people, To me - you are equal and discrimination isn't my ball park. Steven Spielberg recently said - in an interview concerning the holocaust, that prejudice leads to such things as what the nazis did to the Jews. He said if we only accepted those we are "uncomfortable" with rather than persecuting them for being different to our own selves then the world would be better. Christ's message was to all, he would accept anyone because he came not to call the righteouss, but sinners to repentance. So basically, in my opinion, if all you were judged for in this life, was your "homosexuality" then you would be the former = righteouss. I.e. If your only being "yourself" makes you guilty of something, then we are all doomed. Don't forget, Christ also said "judge not lest you be judged".
So, sorry to dissapoint you if you wanted a debate against what "those" bible-bashers might say. However, as you said - you won the debates because basically you are correct, there is nothing in the bible that can justify homophobia.

Quick off-topic message to To Lam, - no reply needed.
Okay - fair enough, it's just that I thought you might have assumed each and every "bible basher" argues against homosexuality. And I wanted to show that's not the case. The living word is basically: "In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God...and the word became flesh"> Hence my point is, that I take the words of the living word over any other word. The bible is still "inspired" by God --> That's my belief anyway.
Dan, why do I annoy you in debate? Get over the fact that you are a more of a chance deludant.

The new picture of the evolution of women/men
"According to the bible" ......That's a vague statement. The new picture of the evolution of women/men seems to be a typical, "let's attack the bible" statement. I say Asgara wrote it!
However, I take from the example of the living word - being a christian. Remember the disciples' shock when they saw Jesus talking with a woman?
Obviously the admin think most believers here are shepards/Jews, sojourning in the land of Israel. Ho hum.
