I'm not a YEC, although I respect those Christians who do believe in a young earth.

If this life is all there is, it doesn't matter if you do good things or bad things ... everyone ends up in the same place, six-foot under in a wooden box. Life is just meaningless few years of consciousness and irrelevant actions and experiences. You come from nothing and go back to nothing - so it means nothing.
