each 24 hours in length.

Also, FYI: Bishop Usher was an Anglican Irish Bishop famous for assuming the age of the earth based on the chronology mentioned in the Bible. Its kinda where the whole strange idea of 6000 years came from.

So as Phat told you in his Message 62 reply, Bishop Ussher is the source of YEC BS claims of the earth only being about 6,000 years old (they only say "no older than 10,000 years old" because everybody (except for you) knows that 4004 BCE date for the Creation, so saying "6000 years" would immediately expose their deceptive game of "Hide the Bible" (remember that the entire idea of "creation science" was to hide the fact that science has nothing to do with creationism but rather it is entirely religious and hence doesn't belong in public schools). Why can you never keep up?

Have you never spent a rainy afternoon by going through all the begats in Genesis to figure out Biblical chronology? Of course, we hit a wall (not unlike The Wall of slavery hit by black genealogists trying to do their family histories) in that Genesis only gets us to the Flood.
​
However, in 1996 a local YEC reprinted an article which also works through the various kings to find an external historic event to use as a tie-point -- well, being a typical creationist, he claimed it as his how, but I'm sure that he had plagiarized it. I reprinted his article by copying it as faithfully as I could: ARE THERE GAPS IN THE GENEALOGIES IN DETERMINING WHEN ADAM LIVED?:

By the way, Bill figures the earth to be 424 years older than the Jewish Calendar does, 1996 November 01 having been the 19th of Cheshvan (the third month) of 5757. The present counting method for years use the Anno Mundi epoch (Latin for "in the year of the world"), abbreviated AM or A.M. and also referred to as the Hebrew era. Hebrew year 5771 (a leap year) began on 9 September 2010 and ended on 28 September 2011. Hebrew year 5772 began at sunset on 28 September 2011 and ended on 16 September 2012. I'll leave to you the task of figuring what the Hebrew year is currently.

Phat, the earth; sun; moon; and, the entirety of the
universe was already in existence before the creation

Gen 1:2 states that the earth was without form and
void.
​
Form is from the Hebrew word "tohuw", #8414 in
Strong's Concordance.
​
Tohuw means to lie waste. Look up the Word waste in
the dictionary. By no stretch of the imagination can
waste/tohuw be indicative of something just created.
​
The same goes for void-bohuw, # 922 Strong's. Bohuw
means "an undistinguishable ruin."
​
Nothing is created as an undistinguishable ruin. This
requires a destructive process, not a creative one.
​
Psalms 104:30 "Thou sendest forth thy Spirit,... and
thou renewest the face of the earth.
​
Just as in Gen 1:2, here the Spirit of God is renewing
the earth, which had become tohuw and bohuw.
​
Isaiah 45:18 "...God Himself that formed the earth and
made it; He created it not in vain (tohuw # 8414).
​
Job 38:4-7 states that the angels of God shouted for
joy when the earth was originally created.
​
There is more to support that Genesis is describing a
renewal and not an original creation, but no more
should be needed.
​
Even though this was a renewal, it in no way can be
used to support that any kind of physical life existed
before before Genesis 1:2.
​
Romans 5:12 states that death exists only because of
the sins of Adam. Animals cannot sin.
​
I want to finish replying to your question concerning
the sun, but I will have to post this in a short while. I
Need to look away from the screen for a short spell.

The reason that Satan is the present God of this world
is because God had appointed him this position before
humans were ever created.

God is a Creator. And, Lucifer and perhaps a third of God's
angels were placed on earth to put the finishing touches
to it.

After being placed on earth Lucifer/Satan, because of his
pride and great beauty, rebelled.

Isaiah 14:14 "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds;
I will be like the most High."

Satan was on the earth. He wanted to ascend above the
clouds, and be like God.

Jesus says in Luke 10:18 "I beheld Satan as lightning fall
from heaven."

He was threw back down to earth, where God had placed
him.

Adam could have replaced Satan, but he too disobeyed
God. God knew that Adam would do what he did, but
that's not important here.

There is also a reason why humans must experience a
world ruled by Satan. Not important here.
​
In any event, the universal war that was fought between
Satan and his angels and those under the archangel
Michael was highly destructive to the present solar
system.

God renewed the damage caused to the earth, but look
at the other planets and moons in our solar system. They
still bear the scars of the titanic battle.
​
On day 1 of creation God removed the heavy debris from
earth's atmosphere, which permitted light (from the sun,
which was already in existence) to reach the surface.
​
However because of heavy cloud cover (much like that
on Venus today) the light would be translucent.
​
On day 4 God cleared up the atmosphere completely,
which allowed observance of the sun, stars, and moon
to be observable from earth.
​
This made it possible to observe months seasons, years,
etc....

It is true that yom can refer to a period of time other than
a 24 hour period. However, elsewhere in OT when yom
appears with evening or morning it always refers to a 24
hour period.
​
No open minded person is going to believe God created
grass, herbs, and/or fruit trees on day 3, but didn't make
the sun till 1000 years later on day 4.
​
And, who else in their right mind is going to believe that
the fruit trees would then have to wait another 1000
years utill hummingbirds and insects responsible for
pollination were created.
​
Some assert that since the words evening and morning
are not mentioned with the seventh day that the seventh
day is 1000 years long.
​
However, there was no need to mention evening and
morning since it was not a day of creation, but of rest.
​
The seventh day, like the rest, is numbered.
​
God set up a pattern for us to follow.
​
And, His pattern was not to work six days and rest
for a 1000 years.
