Re: Genetics For The Ill-Informed
These mutations are sufficient to turn any genome into any other: there is a sequence (indeed an infinite number of sequences) of mutations, which would change the genome of a monkey into that of a man, or if it comes to that an elephant into a butterfly, or a frog into a tulip. (These last two, of course, didn't happen, but there are sequences of mutations which would achieve this.)
Which of course is absolute nonsense because these mutations DO absolutely NOTHING of any benefit to the organism, except once in a great great while by a sheer fluke, and some of them are downright lethal. Mutations are MISTAKES, ERRORS, INSULTS to the normal functioning of the DNA.
Nevertheless the Evo Fantasy rolls right along without a care. The power of the reification of pure theory is staggering!
Ba da bing ba da boom.

No, they are the ones I want particularly noticed.

OK, thanks Omni, for everything you said, and I'll take your advice. To me it's like italics, I don't read it as shouting, but perhaps I don't even need the italics. It's apparently just a bad habit. Thanks again.

Re: Hox
If Hox genes "can result in new body plans" where's the evidence? if there are actual genes that can do this you shouldn't have to wait thousands or millions of years to see the result. But of course as usual this is just theory and assumption.
