I want to move the board in a positive direction and avoid moves in the wrong direction, but this doesn't give me much to go on. Can you be more specific? If it slows the board loading, then it is undesirable, esp regarding mobile access on 4G or slower. It might be better to substitute a generic "title" -- "See here for link information" or "This link provides information" Another nagging problem I seem to be having is that when I select a green arrow on the topic list it goes to mid message a couple posts away from mid listed - I have to search for the ID'd number. Note, I use Firefox on windoze 10 machine. Enjoyby our ability to understand RebelAmericanZenDeist ... to learn ... to think ... to live ... to laugh ... to share. If it slows the board loading, then it is undesirable, esp regarding mobile access on 4G or slower. Just to be sure we're on the same page, it only slows two board functions: previewing a message, and posting a message. The slowdown isn't noticeable in most cases, but some websites are slow, so loading data from them (apparently the correct technical term is "scraping") like the title can take a few seconds.
Another nagging problem I seem to be having is that when I select a green arrow on the topic list it goes to mid message a couple posts away from mid listed - I have to search for the ID'd number. Note, I use Firefox on windoze 10 machine. I'm betting that this only occurs when viewing a page containing tweets. Would it be possible to verify whether that is the case? I'm aware of this problem and haven't figured out a way to fix it yet. The tweets load dynamically after the page has already been scrolled to the right place, causing the page to scroll further down. Hmmm, I wonder if I can lock scrolling while the tweets load. It does occur with tweets, but it was occurring before they were implemented. Possibly having to do with large or numerous photos? I've put some time into this issue the last couple days and haven't found a solution yet. I'll be on vacation the next couple weeks and won't have any time for this until I get back.

The double post problem should now be fixed.
I fixed this problem once before a long while back, and the fix should have worked, but it did not. Double posts continued to happen. So I have attempted a different solution. If you double post please post a note to this thread.

Fixed typo in double post solution that probably made problem worse. Please post here if you experience a double post.

I've found that this new "feature" sometimes results in a text display I don't like. Sometimes "the actual title of the webpage" is worse than just seeing the URL.

Quirk I just noticed at here.
When I first posted the EvC Forum: General Discussion Of Moderation Procedures (aka 'The Whine List') link there, it displayed as being the topic name. A bit later it would only display as the URL. We shall see if it does the same thing here - doing a "preview". OK, in "preview" it shows up as the topic name - Will "submit" and see what happens. Moose Added by edit - after "submit" the link shows up a the URL, not the topic title. Maybe at the other location, I was only seeing the topic title in "preview". But the preview while I'm doing this ABE shows the topic title. Clicking "preview" again, it again shows the topic title. It will probably only show URL after "submit". Added by edit 2 - Now it's showing up as the topic title after "submit". Keeps on showing up as such after multiple refreshes, and even a close and reopen. Edited by Minnemooseus, : Added by edit.
