Hi Percy,
Going through the thread list and clicking on the up/down blue arrows (oldest unanswered reply and newest unanswered reply) the newest link works, but the oldest link doesn't:

gives
 1. Instead of 3 and 4

gives
 1. Instead of A and B

gives
 1. instead of a and b

gives
 1. instead of I and II

gives
 1. instead of i and ii

Hi Percy
I never felt like an arrow was quite the right icon.
How about a number instead of an arrow for the number of unanswered replies?
Enjoy

Re: Too many posts...
While creating a new message - every post in that thread is displayed in the box below the input box.
This can be 1000's of posts, which eventually starts making my browser unhappy as more and more memory is used.
This was always a feature of the general reply, while the message reply only shows the one message.
Also a good argument for limiting the length of threads (there used to be a 300 post limit).

Hi nwr,
Something really strange happened to my reply to RAZD at Message 96. I am seeing my post look as if it is enclosed within the RAZD post. That looks like a bug to me.
Yep, saw that too. Fixed it by editing the complete the table coding that I had used at the end, I had inadvertently forgot\omitted the codes (it was waaay late for me)
Thanks

Hi Percy
I'll try the db table codes next time.
I do have an HTML parser that removes disallowed HTML tags and attributes from messages, which is relatively straightforward, but detecting just certain forms of bad HTML and determining the proper correction is more difficult.
Yeah, I noticed that the mock html code I had in a post was stripped out. I'll use html symbol codes for < and > in the future.
Thanks

Hi Percy,
I agree -- the db codes are also more intuitive imho
All the line breaks become real line breaks, ...
As opposed to how it looks on a webpage that only shows breaks when specified by
or

(and where you can ignore

unless it involve formating).
,,, and browsers put all these line breaks in a single spot at the beginning of the table. In a long table that results in a large vertical blank space just above your table, like this:

Column 1

Column 2
Yes, but I found that if you take out the line breaks that don't affect the cell contents, like this:
Column 1
Column 2
... that it comes out
Column 1
Column 2
This is still bulkier than the db code, with more margin for error.
If you do the same thing with table dBCodes like this:
[row]
[col]
Column 1
[col]
Column 2
Then it will not have all that extra vertical space:
Column 1 Column 2
Not all of them -- there is still one extra line there. The easy one to remove is the break before [row and the [col];
[row][col]
Column 1
[col]
Column 2
Then it will not have all that second extra vertical space:
Column 1 Column 2
And you can still make it more compact in the reply\peek windows with
[row][col]Column 1
[col]Column 2
Column 1 Column 2
and with multiple rows
[row][col]R1C1
[col]R1C2
[row][col]R2C1
[col]R2C2
R1C1 R1C2
R2C1 R2C2
Enjoy.

Re: Another bug
Hi Panda,
Steps to reproduce the bug:
I have had similar problems when trying to pick the link to the post with [open in new window] (right click on link) and not getting that option on the link.
I find that if I do preview of the post that it works after that.

Re: Another bug
Curious.
When I go to
EvC Forum: Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations
I get the {Lies, Falsehoods and Misrepresentations} thread in Coffee House (that you closed)
but when I go via [tid=1923] I get Frosty Spring
(Previewed this says "Frosty Spring" (in Proposed New Topics) - not sure what it will show when posted)
Could there be two 1923 threads? (I thought they each had a distinct number)
{abe}
I get the same problem with {Dendrochronology Fact and Creationist Fraud}
EvC Forum: Dendrochronology Fact and Creationist Fraud
and Genesis 1:1-3
Enjoy

Hey Percy, in your vast abount of spare time ...
Would it be possible ...
when a post is off-topic to have the reply button disabled or re-routed (say to a coffehouse topic that can then be moved if it gets traction\good discussion.
Could you copy the post to coffee house and link reply button to that post?
Or disable the reply button/s and edit the post with the "OFF TOPIC" notice and a link to the new location?

Re: Forum seems to be running kind of slow
I find that clicking on a link forty times is rather satisifying even if it doesn't really speed things up.
It should be 42, if you want the answer to the ultimate question ...
I also find that running facebook slows everything down, so I've stopped accessing that on my laptop.
