Just don't exhale
Perhaps people would rather not be dosed with nicotine? I know it's an improvement over tobacco smoke but can't smokers/e-ciggers stop sharing the waste product of their addiction?

Re: Just don't exhale
Of course there is, do you really think you would absorb 100% of it. The air we breathe is about 20% oxygen and even though we would die without it, we the air we exhale is about 16% oxygen. I haven't found any data on how much nicotine is breathed out when using e-cigs, but I would assume at least some would be.

Re: Just don't exhale
Now you're just being a troll. The amount of nicotine in vegetables is miniscule compared to the amount in cigarettes.
The nicotine contents of vegetables

The New England Journal of Medicine study also says:
"Of course, the route of absorption is quite different in eating as compared with inhaling. Furthermore, if the vegetables are thoroughly cooked, the nicotine will diffuse into the cooking water and less will be ingested."

Re: Just don't exhale
Nicotine is a known poison and yet you seem to thing you should be able to spew it out where ever you are without any regard to anyone else. Just keep it to yourself is all I ask. Now it may not be a very high risk but as a non-smoker, I resent having to breathe it in just because vapers and smokers are too selfish to think about other people.

Re: Just don't exhale
It was a valid response to him. He just threw out the fact that some vegetables have detectable levels of nicotine in them without following up with if it would actually be absorbed. I provided some links that about that.

Here is a link to secondhand vapor for e-cigs:
Secondhand vapor from e-cigarettes contains nicotine but not other toxins: study — New York Daily News
Basically saying that yes, as any reasonably person would conclude, they do release nicotine into the air but more study is needed to determine if this is harmful.
And yes I do believe that adding more shit into the air, especially inside a building, is only going to be worse than not adding anything into the air.

Re: Just don't exhale
You ask why wait to see if its harmful, why not ask the question why not see if its harmful before allowing it as it is a toxin? It seems reasonable to me.
I have not said anywhere that it is harmful, just that nicotine is a poison and so it may be better to err on the side of caution until we know more about the risk.
Well, vaccines aren't poisonous and aren't being released into the air for others to breathe. There is a definite public heath benefit to vaccines (i.e. lots of people don't die). And all the dozens of studies done have shown no increased risk of autism due to vaccines. So it differs a hell of a lot.

Re: Just don't exhale
From this brief "Poster" (not a study), it doesn't appear they were testing for nicotine in the air.

Re: Just don't exhale
My mistake. I could have sworn I didn't see nicotine in the list of items measured. I don't know how I could have missed it but I did, my apologies.
I am a bit surprised that they didn't detect any nicotine in the air after vaping though.
