Does anyone think the bible seeks to belittle women or teaches a doctrine of inferiority?
If you read the verses that Arach. supplied above, there's no "think" about it. Women are second-class, both in the OT and to at least one of the guys that wrote under the name of Paul. The Book of Judith is just about the only place where women get a decent story told, and it's in the Apocrypha, so fundies don't accept it, anyway.

He will be honest, responsible, loving, caring, etc. He will be a man of integrity.
Why not just do all that because you prefer life and you relationships with your wife and other people when you act that way? Why involve an imaginary friend in it?

Re: God's Plan for Marriage...
you can only become one if you have two equals coming together
Where did this absurdity come from? That makes no sense on any level whatever, not even arithmetical!

Re: Equality...
They (women) don't like it and pray & that the husband would rightfully exercise his duties

Re: Equality...
remember the Old Testament times also had Eunuchs.
Said eunuchs were forbidden to enter the Temple...."unclean" or some such, as I remember it.

Re: Polygamy & Levirate Marriages
The only plan I see before the fall is procreation.
Which plan might deserve a thread of its own: in a "pre-Fall" world without death, just how long will everyone be able to keep on poppin' out babies? Particularly if the cockroaches are doing it, too?
