steady state looks like fun...
...it would suggest a pre big bang universe as a bubble that started to inflate at the speed of light while being embedded in another medium. It would then suggest that spactime didn't inflate to infinity but still is expanding into the medium such that lots of little bangs are happening at the frontiers and converting nothing to something. It also suggest that energy/matter is constantly being produced and consumed and may take the form of very thin dense tendrils rippling back, forth and across spacetime and that evidence of these tendrils are black holes that work in reverse to what's happening at the frontier converting something to nothing and sending it back to the frontiers thus balancing the whole expanding spherical bubble membrane
now if the medium outside the still inflating universe were the 5th dimension/singularity/nothingness then we could combine all 3 models, inflationary big bang, branes and steady state especially if all physical laws breakdown at the frontier and in the pre big bang singularity and also inside a black hole
Combining all 3 models would still allow for the possibility of more bubble membraned universes to be embedded beyond the 5th dimension/singularity/nothingness to another universe and beyond that a 6th dimension because seeing as how the presence of a universe vibrating at a different rate would change the initial medium then that would constantly allow for different dimensions and universes ad infinitum
not only that but it discounts the need for God yet, though I like the whole concept of an intelligent design cos that would mean black holes exist exactly where they need to be to maintain equlibrium and also because it removes anything ever having happened or will happen by chance ie... by random fluctuation
hmmmmm....needs work but i got time on my side...heh heh, though not enuff to do the study and maths so I'll just leave it to those that do and keep having fun visualising it
but anyway, ever noticed how the skin/membrane of a bubble swirls around surely that would account for counter and clock wise spin...
...as you were
