It's what you said.
Message 145
My statement to which you responded pertained to speech perse and not to actual usage of the Bible as evidence. Creationists have been critiqued for verbally alluding to the Bible as a historical record in some of our messages since there is historical information in it.
And you repeated it in Message 149
Using faith in the Bible to support claims of the Bible is not what I do or what I am positing. We all know that any debate about the Genesis flood comes from the Biblical record. All I am asking is that Biblicalist members be allowed to refer to the Bible as a historical record in our speech. That has nothing to do with support or evidence It is simply how we describe the alleged historical flood and/or Exodus event.
So tell me, why is it "demeaning" to suggest that you actually meant what you said ?

Hey Buz,
As Purple has quite explicitly ruled any further discussion on this subject off-topic here, it might be interesting to spin off the idea of how Biblical references could conceivably be used to another thread. I know this has been discussed, at least peripherally, in the past, but it might be time to take another look. If the topic can be framed from a standpoint of "what would it take to allow Biblicalists (your term) to use the book as a valid reference?", perhaps this approach would shed a different light on things. Unfortunately, I don't have the time/resources to propose the new thread, but if you were to do so, I'd happily join you there.

Can't you open up Antioch's Fire's new thread?
Instead, AdminPaul has already started debating him on it.

No, I'm not debating. Just giving him a friendly warning while asking him to state the points he wants to discuss. When he states the points he wants to talk about the post can be promoted

It seems like Beretta's new thread is too 'big' for its britches. Neither side can focus as long as short, unfocused responses are simply lobbed at each other, each of which probably contains a whole host of potential focused topics.
Perhaps in the excitement of new creationist 'blood' and the desire to attract more creationist posters has decreased the amount of rigor in approvals? I for one would like to see Admins turn that thread into a spring board for more focused discussion about any number of the various issues being brought up. Of course, biblical creationists are committed to belief in God's written Word, the Bible, which forbids bearing false witness; --AIG (lest they forget)

Good point. I assume you're talking about the Your reason for accepting evolution thread? Let me see what I can do.

I dunno. The title is "Your reason for accepting evolution". Beretta is claiming that your reason is that you want to deny God, and that you've been bombarded with evolution dogma since you were little.
That may be wrong, but it sounds on topic to me. Computers have cut-and-paste functions. So does right-wing historical memory. -- Rick Perlstein

I dunno. The title is "Your reason for accepting evolution". Beretta is claiming that your reason is that you want to deny God, and that you've been bombarded with evolution dogma since you were little. That is also part of the problem. It may belong in a different forum. It also should be framed in a way that specifically addresses the claim that evolutionists are godless. But the way it is framed, you could literally have any kind of discussion about why you accept evolution. There should perhaps be a thread called, "People believe in evolution just to deny God" in one of the theology forums.
That may be wrong, but it sounds on topic to me. Which begs the question, what substantial discussion about evolution would NOT be on topic in that thread? Of course, biblical creationists are committed to belief in God's written Word, the Bible, which forbids bearing false witness; --AIG (lest they forget)

I was just sayin', is all.
Hey, send 'im over to this thread. It's not quite the same topic, but maybe it's close enough. Computers have cut-and-paste functions. So does right-wing historical memory. -- Rick Perlstein

The following is typical of the caustic in your face dogged stalking from Jar, who just passed the 15000 posting record. Wherever I go, since he got suspended (not by me) I've been harrassed, needled and goaded by Jar and it's not very pleasant. The example below is where Jar and I interpret the Genesis text differently and rather than showing a reasonable amount of respect in debate as per item 10 of Forum Guidelines, Jar takes every advantage for an opportunity to demean and harrass with insults.
For the past 60 plus years I've been into daily reading of the Bible and Jar does this thing knowing full well that I read the Bible, likely a whole lot more than him. This, as I say is just one example of this sort of thing Jar is doing. He's always been somewhat this way but it seems that since his suspension it's escalated. http://EvC Forum: Why do creationists believe the world was created 6k years ago? -->EvC Forum: Why do creationists believe the world was created 6k years ago? Jar's message title: "Gotta quit misrepresenting the Bible Buz." Jar's typical message personal insult: "Have you ever read the Bible Buz?"

I'll just leave it at that. I'd like for you to join me in prayer over it. “This life’s dim windows of the soul, distorts the heavens from pole to pole, and goads you to believe a lie, when you see with and not through the eye.” -William Blake

Is it an insult to be honestly questioned?
I guess so, according to you. Or is that you just don't like being honestly questioned? You know, because it might just expose the flaws in your thinking? I'm betting that's it. Oh, and just because I read Hamlet every day doesn't mean I actually understand Hamlet. You're asking for special protection from something that is hardly insulting. This is a debate for crying out loud--you're supposed to find the weakness in your opponents argument and then proceed to tear it apart. Now if jar had called you a lying hypocrite who murders young children to bath in their blood you would have a point. As it is, he (as far as I can really recall) does not insult you. Unless, of course, you find the truth insulting.

But Buz, you DO misrepresent the Bible. Frequently. If you're upset about begin caught doing that the only cure is to stop doing it.

Hi Buz,
The message from Jar that you reference, Message 16, says this:
Jar writes: So each day was light and dark, even before there was a Sun. No need of a Sun or Moon. Have you ever read the Bible Buz? The message has been edited. Is this the content you're concerned about, or did it used to say something different?
