No one is asking for anyone to conform to an ideology. What I think many of us "liberals" wish for is that people learn what the facts are instead of living in a fantasy world. By "liberals" I mean a wide spectrum of people from both the left and right who happen to believe that facts are important.I think there are very healthy policy debates that could happen between the left and right sides of our political system, but that's not what we are getting. Instead, we are just continually rolling our eyes as the GOP circus gets all riled up about the latest misinformation found on Facebook or Fox News. A perfect example is the GOP refusing to vote on a bipartisan border bill THAT THEY NEGOTIATED FOR.

As I understand this was a Trump order. He called the party down.After beating the Border horse into submission, the GOP was surprised and pleased when democrats agreed on a deal. But then Trump pulled the plug.Having a new national border plan would look like a Biden victory. Biden would get the credit. Doesn't matter that it would be good for the nation. It would be a Biden win and the Cheeto cannot allow that. The society, the nation, the world must be kept in misery until the Great One Himself can resurrect his holy rule and re-make all in his image which is the best image. The finest image ever.

I guess there wasn't an emergency at the border after all. This is a much better Biden campaign message than border legislation if his campaign can capitalize on it. Plus it's great for Dems running for Congress.

This happened last week and should be noted in this thread. FBI informant Alexander Smirnov, who claimed to have direct knowledge of corruption by President Biden and his son Hunter Biden and whose testimony to the Comer committee has been central to their efforts to impeach President Biden, was arrested last week for lying to the FBI and creating false records:

FBI informant Smirnov has since been indicted on the two counts. David Weiss is the lead prosecutor on the team filing the charges and has been leading the investigation into Hunter Biden. In other words, Weiss is now prosecuting his lead witness in his corruption case against Hunter Biden.The investigation continues, of course. There's much we still do not know. But the suspicion is that Weiss's lead witness is a Russian spy with orders to interfere in the American election. Weiss was appointed by Trump and appears to be just as much a dupe for Putin as his former boss.It will take time because the Republicans will continue trying to create false suspicions about Biden corruption, but this should eventually cause the Hunter Biden investigation and the Joe Biden impeachment investigation to fade away.--Percy

Of course the Republicans are going to bang on this with both fists in the press and the trumpettes are going to be kicking this can as loud as they can all over the internet and social media. The perceptions are set and every slip, faux pas and hesitation will be magnified a hundred times before dinner.

As seen in other polls large segments of American society continue to be so alienate and dumb, they think Trump is the Second Coming. This perception of Old Joe’s “effectiveness” may well lose him this election.

Are We The People really that stupid? I don’t see practical alternatives. The Democrats have not fostered any. Plenty of Republicans in the public eye ready and able to jump into Trump’s place as dictator-in-waiting. No Savior Statesman from the Dems.

Old Joe is the only viable option considering the alternative’s assaults on our society, our constitution, our world. I feel that slipping away.

Perhaps my problem (among many) is that I never let anyones facts influence my beliefs. Then again, you caught me on a bad day. My blood sugar is 248 and dropping. I am going to take my insulin and nap for 90 minutes. Back in a few.

Before I nap, I wanted to relate that I heard that the Dems plan on electing Gaven Newsome as their candidate, bypassing old Joe. Any truth to that rumor or should I just take my nap and return in 90 minutes? (Blood Sugar 241 and dropping)

The LA Times poured cold water on that idea more than 2 weeks ago - arguing that it was too late to do it even then.

If your blood sugar is that high it is a bigger problem than needing insulin. What are you doing that you shouldn't be doing? Eating a non-approved diet? Drinking alcohol? Rationing insulin?
You need to get this under control. Spikes like that will kill you.

Just spoke to my wife, the doctor. That is probably fairly normal for a diabetic. Stay healthy
