I am of the opinion that good and evil are subjective. One mans good is another mans evil. Evil and good are descriptive terms used to describe not entities on to themselves.

Murdering someone out of vicious hate would describe evil behavior, but evil is a description not an entity. Is putting someone to death for crimes committed murder? When society says killing is ok does the 'evilness' of it somehow vanish? When a culture accepts the dehumanizing practice of dismembering womens clitoris for the sake of tradition does this make it non evil? Where do you draw the line? Is there a line?

Re: Is there a distinction between Humans and Animals?
A human being is far more than they're worst act. That was one of the messages of Christ. A Great white shark is motivated by the desire to survive. In most cases attacks are cases of mistaken identity. The shark is not evil for mistaking a surfer for a seal. People that think sharks are evil simply do not understand sharks. Dahmer was psycotic, yet the courts found he knew the difference between right and wrong. Therefore he was found guilty and held responsible for his heinous crimes. Saying something is evil suggest in my opinion that the perpertrator had no choice, evil prevailed and somehow evil is to blame. I believe Dahmer made the choice to behave in a way that could be described as evil. Was he evil? evil is as evil does.

Re: My theory
Hi Micky,

I don't know but if humans were inheritantly evil we all would be. Then again, if we were, life would be too perfect thus meaning that there would be no difference in life. I don't know. It's just a theory of mine.
Micky there are two kinds of people in the world. 1. Those that believe EVIL is a supernatural force that manifest itself into reality.
2. Those who believe that EVIL is a word developed by man in the attempt to describe phenomenon that society or culture has agreed upon to call evil.
I am in camp 2 because I do not feel that "the devil made me do it" defense is an excuse for evil behavior. Humans are the only creatures on Earth that make the distinction between Good and Evil. Is it because there is a supernatural force at work or have humans developed a system of morality .
