quote: Say what I want huh... He reserves the right to choose the panel that judges the submissions...Presumably to screen out anyone who would actually know empirical evidence if it bit them in the arse... He reserves the right to screen the evidence presented and only show the panel that evidence he chooses to... I`m starting to wonder... a)will the panel consist of a bunch of dyed in the wool creationists? b)will he accept and pass along any evidence that counters his claims? c)does the $250,000 even exist? The offer is to be short spurious....

quote: Well as creationists would be biased against the evidence and atheist/agnostics biased towards it non-creationist theists would seem like a good compromise... Also, as scientific proof would be presented, the panel members should be scientists not lawyers, theologians etc... In short the panel should not just be Dr (from a diploma mill I might add) Dino and his ideological nearest and dearest....

It is also worth noting the april fools hoax he fell for....
http://www.nmsr.org/Archive.htm I thought it was pretty funny as is but the thought of Dr Dino falling for it really made me laugh....

quote: Red nothing in science is given as fact it is just the best naturalistic explanation of observed phenomena...... For example Newtonian mechanics is very accurate.... unless what your looking at gets to small or goes to fast (which is where Quantum mechanics and Relativity come in)..... So while Newtonian mechanics is a good approximation it is not a *Fact*......(good enough to get man to the moon at any rate)....

quote: Here is an analogy of this challenge...I will give you $250,000, the crown jewels and the moon if you provide me with evidence that that "no more a prince .... Egypt" prophecy is fulfilled. I get to look at the data and choose what gets shown to the panel. You will interact with the panel exclusively through me. I will choose the panel. You don't get to know who is on the panel. But it will probably consist of people who are ideologically opposed to finding in your favour. If it exists at all. Do you reckon you could win that bet? Didn't think so....

You know that those books present evolution as proven fact, and that simple isn't true. Until anything is proven fact it's just a belief.[/QUOTE] The THEORY of evolution is not a fact, in the same way as Newtons laws are not a fact they are theories and are taught as such..... Nothing in science is a 100% certainty fact. All science is potentially falsifiable and therefore not fact.....

quote: Actually if their parents feel that strongly about it they could home school them - something that the dear old doctor recommends himself...... And children dont go to school to keep them busy they go to learn things, in science education this means learning what science is, how it works (both of which you seem to have avoided learning) and familiarization with current scientific concepts...

Actually bud both Mark and I are brits...
sounds like we both went to state schools... the state religion is CoE (Church of England = Anglican).... so we were taught Religious education as a mandatory subject... And we had to pray and sing hymns... At a state school... coz we dont have church-State separation.... Which is a good thing to have....
