I think the idea of multiple universes explains the bizarre natural phenomenon of why outcomes of a predicted event can be actualized by viewing the event. The double slit experiment showed that light behaves like both a wave and a particle. Every possible outcome of a waveform is collapsed into a event. How can all possible outcomes collapse into one event? The answer is that all events take place and depending on which reality/universe you are in is which event takes place. So in universe #1 the light particle goes left and in universe #2 the particle goes right. etc.... The multiverse theory is just one of many to explain Quantum Mechanics. This is my simplistic take on it, other forum members probably have a much better grasp.
