Reef
Could you ask the question in a coherent manner please? I shall then give you an answer.

Re: Reef
I was just pointing out your question was incoherent - that's not being pedantic.

Explain 'easily wrong' - which probably impinges on your 'question' I was wanting you to clarify.

That is your idea of 'easy'. Wow! Wormholes probably don't exist - and you would lose the information from photons going in anyway. The alien comments don't even warrant addressing.

No - but I am saying the idea that the claimed advanced alien race is going to the effort of fooling us is absurd. You can always trump up some outlandish hypothesis for anything. Sort of like the old God of the Gaps argument or Last Thursdayism. Cosmology like all sciences attempts to explain our experiments and/or observations in terms of a coherent set of physical laws. As such appeals to the supernatural/fiction have no place in this philosophy. God(s) whether they exist or not is not a scientific question. Advanced aliens violating known physics likewise.

1) Actually we don't. The finite/infinite question is still not known. There are ways of perhaps finding this out but it will have to wait for the next generation of CMB observations a la the Planck mission. 2)Because we can already see almost to the limits of our local Hubble volume. The problem is we are looking back in time as we look farther. We cannot ever view something that is not causally connected to us for all time. Hence the Hubble volume concept. 3) I am an astrophysicist. Some of my work has been in cosmology - some of it not. Originally I was in quantum gravity research but I just ended up doing more astrophysical problems.

No - I'm not allowing two violations of relativity in one scenario!

Vortex theory
What a load of crap. I just read several pages of that nonsense. It never states anything. All shall be revealed if you buy the book. What it does say is just buzzwords and poetry. Makes absolutely no sense. Even more interesting is the fact that I cannot track down the Russian 'referees'. I went to Moscow State Technical Institutes web site and there is no such department listed for the first listed referee. I cannot find his name anywhere on that site. Mmmm - smells like a crank to me. Wheres Alan Cresswell???

Re: Vortex theory
No but when you go to the University website and it's list of departments has no such department as that listed on the vortex theory webpage and you cannot find the name of this professor on there is suspicious. I wouldn't say it's definitive proof BUT it certainly smacks of invention.
