And yet it's the conservatives who get bent out of shape if you call them on their bigotry.As I've probably mentioned before, people who are bigots seem to be more concerned about being called bigots than about whether or not they are bigots. If somebody calls me a bigot, I (being circumspect in every way - where's the smilie with the halo when you need it?) say, "I know. I'm working on that."

We used to have "freedom" from having black men flirting with our granddaughters. We used to have the "freedom" to lynch them for infringing on our "freedom" like that.

I've said before that conservatism isn't necessarily a bad thing - it just depends on what you want to conserve. If you want to conserve innocent childhood, safe neighbourhoods, etc. then that's a good thing. If you want to conserve segregation, discrimination, etc. then that's a bad thing.I agree with you that YOUR version of Christianity fits best with the conservative point of view. Unfortunately, what you want to conserve makes your brand of conservatism self-disparaging.

That's the problem. You became "skeptical" of everything liberal and nothing conservative. You swallow everything hook-line-and-sinker on the Internet that's anti-liberal. That's exactly what's wrong with political correctness. You're doing exactly the same thing as the people you criticize.

That's what I said - and that's what you do all the time, except that your ridiculous fictions are right-wing nuttery instead of left-wing.

If you read my posts, you'll find that I've taken some pretty INcorrect positions. For example, I've questioned the validity of "gender reassignment" and I've actually defended female circumcision FFS.

I disagree, which is why I read your posts.
