You are a pup.
Guys like Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford, Lemmy, etc. are all older than me.
Ronnie James Dio. Old skool.

Ah, the good ol' days when having a "transistor radio" of your own was a big thing.

The whole history of musical invention has been about the precise reproduction of specific waveforms.
"Precise reproduction" is certainly not what music or any other art is about. That's why all recorded music is bland compared to live music. Digital recording just lowers the common denominator even further.

The acoustics and audio fidelity will always be better in the digital recording than in the live performance.
Fidelity has nothing to do with the quality of the music.
Live, there's interference from other people, there's the trade-off between creating an acoustic space and creating a performance space.
Exactly. It's the performance that makes it human, as opposed to mechanical. If you hadn't noticed, the thread is about passion for music.

Oh, now we're talking about "quality"?
I don't know where you got the impression that we were ever talking about anything else.
... apparently you like it better the less of the music you can actually hear.
No. Just the opposite. I like to hear all of the performance, including the parts that digital recording removes. You can call it "noise" if you like.
I missed that this was yet another thread for insufferable music snobbery.
It seems to me that the insufferable snobs are the ones who whine about flaws in sound reproduction.
You're right that I can't possibly be someone who enjoys music unless I like exactly the same music as you....
I haven't criticized anybody's taste in music. I simply pointed out the common error you made in confusing the reproduction with the real thing.
Gosh, would you like to tell me that my hair is too long, now, Grampa?
Mine's probably longer than yours, sonny.

I like Wagner. I don't get depressed if other people like vanilla.
