A friend of mine in the air force got shipped to Qatar this week, the most heavily defended base in the area. Their defense: a ten foot tall chain-link fence. He asked his CO if the terrorists were allowed to shoot through the fence, of if there was some kind of treaty that prevented them from doing so. The CO didn't find it funny, so he told her "whatever, but if it has a towel on it's head, it's fair game!" He was trying to get out of going, trying to walk that fine line of too crazy to go over-seas, but not too crazy to get kicked out. What a character. If he comes home in a body bag, I will seriously flip out.
