So, what did your doc say, I seem to have struck a nerve there?
No, you didn't strike a nerve. I just don't understand why someone who believes that God doesn't exist at all, would even be concerned. I don't even think it is possible to be an atheist.
I don't think I ever told my doctor, but I used to work in a hospital for 11 years. Most doctors are no different than you or I. Some by there experiences in trying to save lives, come to realize that there is more, and there is a God, others by there education, are not sure. I think any good scientist, or medical person should be agnostic anyway.
But I am my own doctor in a sense, and I have always said that the day I felt the Holy Spirit (since that is when I started feeling something more than just plain faith) was either the day I went crazy, or the day I got just a little taste of who and what God is all about. I continue to learn more about Him, and myself throughout this journey.
I expect others who haven't felt this to think I am crazy, as did I before I felt it. So I guess I understand your question.
My only thought to you is that you would hopefully remain open minded, and seek God in your own way.
