You are indeed a lucky man, Flies. It is testament to your merit.

Hi jar:
jar writes: Hey now, you know that we have told you over and over agin that we would never admit that we even know somebody in Texas, let alone to having a "long lost cousin".
1. did you know you have a long lost cousin living in deep south Texas? jar writes: Well, we did once ship some venison to Louisiana. I think it even made there "intact".
2. do you ship out of state?

I bet that's exactly it, schraf. Either Flies has an exquisitely sensitive nose, or the chef had a heavy hand; I did notice in another post that Flies says he doesn't eat much fresh fish because it smells, well, fishy...
I sometimes use a small amount of fish sauce (I'm allergic to all shellfish), but often don't because it does turn some people away. Probably wouldn't want to offer him winter kimchi, either Save lives! Click here! Join the World Community Grid with Team EvC!

schrafinator writes: I asked my friend what the “dish” was and she seems to think that is was some god awful concoction (in my opinion) called Sayur Lamak Hotpot. I looked the name up in a Malaysian dictionary, and as far as I can tell, it translates roughly into: "Rotten socks soaked together with dirty underwear in used mop water, and then a placed on a dirt floor so an old sick dog can drag his butt across them before they are used to clean a Komodo dragons mouth and then stored in a container of pig manure mixed with five-year-old used french fry grease for a month or two before ringing them out into bowls and serving “it” to unwary customers"...but I could be wrong

Just wondering if there are antioxidants in grape juice (the purple one) just like there are in wine?

Help!
I'm trying to find a good sausage recipe to make from scratch. I want to make beef sausage. We are trying to avoid nitrites so I don't want to use the prepackaged spices. Any help is greatly appreicated. Thanks

My mother used to talk about a cookbook that her grandmother had. The recipe for roast chicken began, "First, kill a chicken...." ... from scratch. That could probably be extrapolated to cows. I'm a bit hazy about the ensuing steps, but I'd suggest putting the cow into the grinder tail-first. Help scientific research in your spare time. No cost. No obligation. Was it Bismarck that said, "Those who love the Law and sausages should never watch them being made?"
