Re: Get a load of this
Robinrohan, you have called me out from lurking. In the future when you quote me, go ahead and identify me. This is the second time you have quoted me anonymously and then attacked my position. It was I that made the quote that so distressed you that it induced the pyhsical urge to regurgitate.
Now, moving past your rather low tactics, how exactly does my position amount to braggadocio?
Now, if you are capable of engaging in a discussion where there is no reason to "Cry Nihilism! And let slip the dogs of pedanticism!", please respond.

Really? It is?
Exemplary moral character is more than human. Period.
No, not if you use the word "exemplary" to mean what it means in English. From the good ol' American heritage dictionary:
1. Worthy of imitation; commendable: exemplary behavior.
2. Serving as a model.
3. Serving as an illustration; typical.
4. Serving as a warning; admonitory.
What in this is inhumanly difficult? Your idiosyncratic definitions are tripping you up.

Re: Really? It is?
I do not think that the common understanding of "exemplary" is "great", esp. given it's obvious link with the word "example". In any case, now that you know what the word means and assuming you can overcome your shock, do you still think my position nausea inducing or will you admit your error?

Re: Really? It is?
Very well. In spite of the fact that you didn't even understand the vocabulary used in the statement, you stick with your original assesment of it. Unsurprising.
I asked back in message 107 and I ask again... exactly why?

Re: Really? It is?
The fact that we have nothing further to discuss is exemplified (see how I did that?) by the fact that you, even with learning that you were ignorant of what my original statment meant due to not knowing what the words used meant, still maintain that my claim was a boast.
One wonders if you know what "boast" actually means. I will not waste effort in looking it up for you. I am done with this.

Re: Boasting
Would you please just go ahead and vomit, you annoying pedant? Regurgitation instead of repitition would be an interesting change from you.
We all get it. You think that I am a few others here are boastful. Fine. You're wrong, of course, but feel free to think it. You've made it clear. Now would you please for the love of everything shut the hell up and move on? Give over the use of the damned bandwidth to something a little more productive then whining "Look at how bad these people are and see how clever I am for pointing it out! See how good I am for not doing what THEY do!"
Also, I asked once but you were apparently too tied up in your own skewed little world to remember. I will thus "shout" it at you:
DO NOT QUOTE ME AND THEN ATTACK MY POSITIONS OR CHARACTER WITHOUT AT LEAST ADMITTING WHO YOU ARE ATTACKING!"
Yes, I am annoyed. People who are immune to reason tend to do that to me.
Admins, I will accept whatever disciplinary action you deem needed for this post. I realize it was a personal attack, but I have been subject to them from RR for this entire thread.

Re: Boasting
What an unbelievable opportunity you missed. I pity you.
Damn straight. To look at the old, those who have gone on before us, and to judge them so superficially, by such shallow standards...
The problem is not with those old, expierenced and probably quite ill gentlemen. It is with you, RR.

Re: Boasting
Hows that for a brilliant summing up..heh?!!
Pretty lousy. It makes invalid assumptions about atheists (i.e. that they are "umbilically tied" to boasting) and theists (that maturity is possible in that context).
