Take a conventional vacation, which consists mostly of looking at things and trying new drinks. How can that be boring? You should come for for a day out with me and my mates when the football season starts up again, you can try some new drinks, and a karaoke! Life is what you make it mate, grab it by the balls. Brian

I do not think that the common understanding of "exemplary" is "great", esp. given it's obvious link with the word "example". In any case, now that you know what the word means and assuming you can overcome your shock, do you still think my position nausea inducing or will you admit your error?

Very well. In spite of the fact that you didn't even understand the vocabulary used in the statement, you stick with your original assesment of it. Unsurprising.
I asked back in message 107 and I ask again... exactly why?

I asked back in message 107 and I ask again... exactly why? Boasting is generally considered bad manners. But the worst boasting of all is moral boasting. One is putting oneself on a moral pedestal.

Life is what you make it mate, grab it by the balls. Well, I do that in my own small way. At least I think I do. But I must admit that "scenery" bores me after awhile. The problem is that the hunger of imagination outraces reality. That's the nature of the human condition. As a result, we have an occasional sense of "vacuity."

The fact that we have nothing further to discuss is exemplified (see how I did that?) by the fact that you, even with learning that you were ignorant of what my original statment meant due to not knowing what the words used meant, still maintain that my claim was a boast.
One wonders if you know what "boast" actually means. I will not waste effort in looking it up for you. I am done with this.

I have lived many years in this world, and I have never known anyone with an exemplary moral character. They all had flaws, many of them serious. But maybe I ran with the wrong crowd.

Robin a Christian? Bar for the nihilistic fly in the ointment he could well be. He's even got a fundi-like pile on going.
Robin, just to be certain. I want you to say after me "Jesus Christ is not my Lord" Edited by iano, : No reason given.

Maybe you're too high up on your own moral pedestal? Maybe so. It's hard to know oneself. I'm aware of some flaws, but there might be other flaws I have that I am not aware of. But I don't think I'm on a moral pedestal here, unless being annoyed by boasts is being on a moral pedestal.

I want you to say after me "Jesus Christ is not my Lord" That sounds a little disrespectful. I'll just say "there is no God."

That sounds a little disrespectful. I'll just say "there is no God." What's disrespectful about saying "Jesus Christ is not my Lord"? He either is or he isn't - I would have thought. He is mine. Is he yours?
