No, it was not a problem at all. It was thought to be extinct. That's all. Finding some simply showed that they were not extinct. Why would that be a problem?

Forgot to add.
Here is a site with some information on the monotremata. I have been trying to find some information on the recent findings in Argentina and will post it once I relocate it.

Re: A basic problem
But there is are other steps needed for that to be useful. Not only do you need to predict the evolutionary changes needed, you need to be able to accurately predict the environment and then have the wisdom to implement in a timely fashion.
Of the various challenges, IMHO, Wisdom will be the most difficult.

Re: Monotreme fossils in Argentina No Big Deal
I didn't know that they were a problem.

Re: coelacanth
Robert
There is no purpose, no direction to change. There is no schedule, no timeline. There is no goal, no objective.
Change is random. It can happen, or not happen.
The filter is simply natural selection. Some species survive to reproduce, some don't.
You've been told, numerous times, that coelacanth has changed. The species alive today is not the same critter from 65 million years ago. It, like most everything else except creationists, has evolved.
Again you retreat to it didn't need to change because its envirorment stayed the same.
PROVE IT. Where's the evidence?
The evidence, and it's clear enough for even a rock to understand, is that the sucker is still alive today. We can see the fossils from 65 million years ago and we can see the critters swiming today.
That's evidence.

Re: Learn something first
My knowledge of a particular subject doesn't change the fact that you guys routinely speak of ideas and theories as if they are fact.
Well, Evolution is a fact or as close to fact as we are ever likely to find.
The Theory of Evolution is, as stated, a theory. It is the best explanation so far of the fact of Evolution.
