Our purpose is to serve and love God correct?
Yes, because in loving and doing God's will, coming in tune with his kingdom and program we become blessed by him. We all are somewhat self serving, caring for our own, seeking the good life and so forth. The wise person, however realizes that being in conformity with supreme God and his kingdom, we bless ourselves with the good life here on earth and eternal bliss in Heaven in the afterlife, for he alone, knows what is best for us.
Jehovah God, after all, being the top being in the universe, deserves the top priority as to who's purpose and will should prevail.
Is God's purpose to serve himself?
He being supreme majesty and in control of all, has the ability to purge out anything from his universe unsuitable to him and bless everything that is suitable to his liking. Thus he is the providential one to whom we should all worship, fear, love, obey and conform to with total allegience. He is not in the universe for us. We are placed in his universe by him for his purpose and pleasure. The sooner we all realize this the better off our personal lives, our communities, our nations and our world will be.
