Scraf,re: The choice we make, actually, is whose child we will be. We are all born as children of the devil, seeds of the evil one. But, we are given the chance to be "born again" as children of God. Those who make that choice get to know God as a parent, and find Him to be a quite good parent. Those who do not choose to be born again stay the children of the devil, basically living out their lives fulfilling the devil's agenda. Which is to uglify God's creation. God does not present Himself to us in these terms, never really claims to be all-powerful or all-knowing. These are terms the devil uses, to uglify God's creation, and make God unappealing to those considering choosing to be born again, taken into His family. God describes Himself as a loving father, a good shepherd, mighty, a wonderful counselor, healer, provider, source of wisdom, understanding, knowledge, creator, comforter, companion.For those who choose to be born again, He is all of these things. For those who do not, He is a formidable but just enemy, restrained only by His hope that these may yet change their minds.It is for understanding of this that I pray for you and others here.
