This thread is going to be unique and controversial. I first want to say to any respondants that I am going to "fight" any replies that you have that do not agree with the concept of the Christian Trinitarian Monotheistic concept of God. My replies will be in the form of a public prayer and rebuke to any words posted that disagree with this perception. Since it is my post, you all are free to ignore me entirely here, in which case I bless you! If you respond to the post in a challenging manner, I will "War" against the perceived spirits behind what you say...yet please understand that I am in no way cursing any person...I am fighting the spirits behind your words.
SO POST IF YOU DARE< BUT KNOW THAT GOD IS SOVEREIGN, and He lives!

I don't get it.
So, what you're saying you're going to do is, one or several of us is going to say something like "Der Ain't No Gawd" and you're going to say "Dear God, smite the evil spirit that lead that one astray" or whatever - and repeat as desired?
And it's your hope that whatever devils motivate us heathens are going to spur us to take part in this?
If all us atheists were really being misled by eee-vil, and praying to God could do something to them, why do you think that the spirits would motivate us to take part in this? Do you expect eee-vil spirits to be idiots or something?
I just don't understand the thought process at work, here.

Prayer Study?
I have to wonder what you are getting out of this Phatboy? I have to assume that you actually expect that any prayer you make will have some sort of difference in the beliefs that others might have? How would you verify that anything even happened? Will you just close your eyes, and assume that your prayer "moved" anyone or any spiritual entity? I have to admit that I was tempted to say something along the lines of Crashfrog's example. But I am not sure what if aything you would get out of it. It obviously wouldn't help you to correct any delusions you have. Is this some sort of "New Age" exorcism? Begone ye demons across the nether, begone! and all that? Are you sure that you are actually talking to people, and not just demons infesting the internet? I get it...SPAM are just manifested demon farts! *sigh*
Its late, I am bored, so I am curious where you are headed with this? Anything I can do? Perhaps spout out a few choice words about jesus, god or the holy ghosty? What kind of responce were you looking for after you finished your prayer? It does interest me in a sociological/anthropological sense. What compels a person to conduct spiritual warfare through the net?

So... if we don't believe in the three gods of Christianity then we are being led astray by evil spirits. We have free will so we can choose whether to believe or not. And Phatboy is going to make us believe by praying for us.
Not getting this...

Re: Prayer Study?
I have to wonder what you are getting out of this Phatboy?
I think Phat is trying to build up good karma by doing good actions and having good thoughts. By doing this he hopes to gain enlightenment and finally attain parinirvana thus allowing him to escape from the samsaric wheel of rebirth that brings constant suffering.
Phat is a good Buddhist
Either that or he is kissin God's butt with the hope of skipping Peter's queue at the pearly gates.
Joking aside, I think Phat is carrying out a truly loving and caring gesture, we don't have to agree with it and we may think Phat has finally lost it, but I think it is done with sincerity.
I personally would rather that no one prayed to God on my behalf, I really feel offended when someone includes me in a ritual that feeds their delusion.
I think that Phat's spiritual war is doomed to failure, but the important thing is, will he acknowledge its failure, or will he move the goal posts as many theists do, thus maintaining his self deluding psychosis?
Brian.

I Hope that Jesus understands and approves..

Heb 11:1-3= Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
Lord, I lift up DBlevins to you. I pray that you bless the knowledge that is gained in college and that your Spirit covers and guides him/her. Lord, you know and understand Mr. Jack better than I do. You know his heart and his keen mind. Show him who you are. I only expect him to know you some day, and I pray that you keep me humble also. He says
We have free will so we can choose whether to believe or not.
and I know that you respect that,Lord. May your will be done. Show Coragyps your eternal nature. Convict me if I have offended you or hurt anyone by praying publically. Lord, I know that private prayers are usually more effective!
I just want to show them our relationship! Please have mercy on all of us! AMEN

As a kid, I remember reading the classifieds in my small-town newspaper. Sometimes there would be these wierd prayers stuck in amongst the ads for selling bass boats and washing machines.
They would read something like the following:
"Most Wonderful and Benevolent Jesus, Lamb of God, Prince of Peace, in eternal servitude and prostration, thank you for prayers answered."
-M.R.
There would be three or four of them from the same person, always a little different but in the same style.
This thread reminds me of those ads in the classified section.

Trinity and Mithrianism
The concept of three persons in one god is a steal from the ancient Mithrians during christianities rise to acceptance in Rome. Christianity was notorious for assimilating pagan ideas and festivals back in those days in order to gain converts from the pagan masses. Easter and Christmas come to mind. Thanks in advance for the prayer. But I would rather hear rebuttal than "god, please open hitchy's eyes and bring him closer to your everlasting love"...
