Not exactly.
God gives us the responsibility of taking care of those children. To him they are the most presious thing in life.
Tell me in your life how thing you got away with when you were younger. Tell me God wasn't watching over you then, when your parents weren't around. I know I got away with an incredible amount of things. It would seem that as you get older, your luck starts to run out, or God lifts his protection from you as you become aware of him, and deny him. I feel very protected now that I do not deny him anymore. Its not only what I feel, but what I see happen to me.
That won't explain what happens to many innocent children around the world, but we are not there, and cannot see the exact reason why. It usually has something to do with what the adults are doing. Since you are born into sin, then you bare the sins of your parents.
I plan to go there, and stop the chain.

You asked God for a place, and he said orange soda?
You know what this means.

May I ask, had he survived do you think you would now be still a believer ?
No.
His illness caused me to delve deeper into Bible study. He and I had always discussed theology, more so in his last days. My father wasn't a supporter of dogma/tradition either.
His death just magnified the reality of religion and made it easier for me to intensify my Bible studies and mature spiritually, for lack of a better word.
Although I don't believe what Christianity presents in tradition and dogma; I do find words of wisdom within the Jewish/Christian Bible, as well as, wisdom from other cultures. Wisdom that comes from experiences inherent in existence.
Now as to whether a supreme being or spirits exist, I don't know. Still on that journey.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.

So god, in his infinite wisdom and love, is a bit like the Deviant Genie that likes to play silly buggers with what you ask for? You're telling me that god, in his infinite wisdom and love, chooses rather than giving the best solution to give what you asked for? And then only if he gets to look good out of it?

And that's just, is it?

Re: Unanswered Prayer
Since I stopped praying and no longer trust in the ambiguities of religion, my fortune hasn't changed. Actually my husband and I are happier.
I used to be angry at my ex-girlfriend when she went to church(because I hated the catholic church).
As my wife now was dis-appointed in me for the last ten years of my involvement in church. Not so much church, but being a spiritual leader of the family.
Yea so if my ex-girlfriend would have dropped church, I would have been happier.
Just like my wife is happier now that I am going to church, and being a spiritual leader of my family.

Do you feel we are responsible for ourselves as a race?

Well, no. Because god, unlike you, is happy to watch his children suffer and do nothing.
Once again god is demonstrated to have inferior morality to most mammals, according to his alleged advocates.

Thats right. Therefore, the problems that we humans, the children of god, suffer, are likely to have something to do with the adult - that is, god.

When you create something (make something from one of God's creations) and it looks good, it is good, don't you look good too, when others see it?

You have that hey!, I breath air, life owes me a living attitude.
Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
You look at things as if they are only happening right now, at present when it is convienent for you to dis-prove God. IT is the layers of deception that you bare on your shoulders. It is your own "knowledge" that keeps you from the truth.
Who made the chirdren?
