I have told you that if this was the case, then our lives would be totally insignificant.
your view is that without god life is meaningless to you, you can not speak for everyone, you have no authority to do so
That is proof enough for anyone that the afterlife is real. Because significance in our lives is apparent.
no, i would say you see it, because you want to see it not because its there, if it was apparent we could seperate the effects of its significance from other things, but we can't, so its a baseless claim

This I believe is in itself shows the existance of an afterlife, because without it, life would not matter. We live each day believing that life in fact matters, and that what we do matters. We develop relationships with eachother, we love eachother. Being that without an afterlife, none of it would matter, I can safely believe that my life does in fact matter, it is meaningful. It is with purpose. Because of the significance that I have placed upon my life, and the lives of those in this world, the afterlife must exist.
Why would life not matter if there wasn't an afterlife?, if this is all there is then it is worth more to do all you can than just pass the time waiting to die, so you can have that afterlife - do you think the second you die people forget you ever existed?, the effects you have by leading a good life shows on the people left after you die, and has nothing to do with an afterlife
Why have so many developed the same exact idea? Of the afterlife.
fear of death
It's so real, and it's so important to our present existance. We have to live like life matters. Believe because you know your life is more then to just be decomposed in a grave.
This is all purely subjective, how is it important? if there is an afterlife were we are immortal why bother to live this life? why not kill yourself and enjoy that second one? i think my life is important now, whether i go to the grave or some other place i don't really care
Believe in God, and an afterlife just because you are more than that.
nice preaching

I don't think it's emo, the guitar is better than that.
its whiny enough..
If life didn't matter, then why would we live? Or want to live?
because death is final, most people don't know, and it could be number of things
Everything we do is important
i was going to put something silly here but, i won't
No, if it was limited then I would have no reason to love anyone. Or grow, become something, believe in God, play guitar, or have friends. That is why life would ultimately be devalued, because I would know that it would end, and it would not matter. Or at least believe that it would end.
Could you I don't know.. want to?, why is the human need of doing things lost on you? why does everything have to have a metaphysical meaning? why can't things be be because we want them
There is much more to life than the earthly one.
really? Show me the way to valhalla

Yeah, this life is all I know, but I know that it matters.
to you, yes, to your family yes, the fact is it doesn't have to have any other meaning than that
t would be finite, and the effects that you have worked for to happen, would EVENTUALLY be in vain.
why would it be in vain? why does everything have to have some super meaning? why can't it be what it is, life

Re: objective purpose
If he examined a human being in the same way, he would be very puzzled. It legs suggest that it is something intended to move around. Its hands suggest a thing that is meant to carry things. The brain suggests a calculator. He wouldn't be able to decide for the very good reason that a human being has no formal purpose.
The only purpose living things have is to live and procreate, life is not the same as a car or anything we design, why does a human need any other purposes than what they want to do

Re: objective purpose
I didn't say they needed such a purpose. I'm just saying, need it or not, they don't have it. They are, in a formal sense, useless.
i wouldn't say usless, i'd rather say, of no specific use, useless implies of no use, which we all know isn't true

I wish you didn't think that.
why?, because i don't see some higher meaning than what is infront of me? because i know that worrying about something i can't control isn't a big deal?
I know that you have to lead a good life, and I know that part of our purpose on earth is to find, know God. But what I have relied on for my knowledge in these areas, requires faith. Something that many intellectuals have hardened their hearts to in reason.
who says it is to find god? many people don't think so, i'd say you need to speak for yourself
I know that life is ejoyable, it's a great thing. But as humans we must think a little about why we are here, and not go through the motions, living without the need to know truth, to know God.
why do we need to think about why we are here? most of the reasons people come up with maybe wrong, they all remain a remedy for fear of death
