Isn't it amazing that no matter which religion someone belongs to they all feel God? I've talked to Jews, mulisms, hindus, christians and everything in between, and all say the same thing. They feel God/Allahs/buddahs love and presence, they feel the spirit so they automatically know. They can't all be right, in fact regardless of the right answer the vast majority of mankind must be wrong.
So Runner you should notice that its not unique to christianity, its something our minds can do to ourselves quite easily.

Its amazing you guys can have a debate on two different subjects. Mike hes not talking in a personal sense in his last few posts, just a world wide sense. If all Christians are right then all atheists are wrong, if atheists are right then every religion is wrong. No matter which choice right the majority of the worlds population is wrong. Billions of people have the wrong beliefs, the wrong faith and can't tell it for themselves.
As for your prayers being answered its an often repeated statement and one that doesn't prove anything. Usually the things prayed for are possible (so no miracle required) so theres a chance these things would happen regardless. Then of course you've got people from mutually exclusive religions praying to different gods and yet they all claim to have their prayers answered. You have ancient cultures doing human sacrifice because the first time they tried it they had great crops, must have been their god, no other answer is there?
I've heard muslims say allah answered their prayers, buddists say buddah helped them out, and christians say it was christ. I'm sure we could have found people claiming Zeus answered their prayers if we had a chance to ask them.
The failure of god to answer prayer is one of the things that has turned people away from various religions. Usually the story goes that a family member becomes sick, prayer is attempted and fails as the person dies regardless. Then the questions, he/she was a good person why didn't god help? I've done everything god asked of me, why wouldn't he help me in my time of need?
Every religion prays for long life and happiness, but none can gaurantee those things. Christians suffer from the same diseases, have as many accidents, suffer as much hardship, and have the same life expectancy as any other human. There is no sign that faith or prayer has made any particular religious group better off than the others.

The story of the many voices from one person is interesting, but doesn't explain a source. Even if it was a supernatural source how can you tell if its Satan, God, Budda, a demon possession or Zeus playing games?
Strange event doesn't have to equal supernatural.
Supernatural doesn't have to equal Christian God.
I've seen some strange things in my life too, one that comes to mind was a demonic possession claim. The guy in question was tied to a chair, screaming in what appeared to be latin (so the commentator claimed, not speaking latin myself I couldn't tell for sure), but when holy water was splashed on him it appears to break the skin (you could see a cut open on his forehead as you watched the video). After 10 mins of prayer the man calmed down and appeared to be normal again. They released him and he was normal until the next day when he killed his wife with a bat. He then attacked the police and was shot.
I can't explain for sure what was seen, or even that it wasn't faked. But it certainly ranks as one of the strangest stories I've seen. Because of the "what ifs", the doubt of the source and the somewhat bias commentry, the event didn't change my beliefs in any way. A Christian friend of my saw the same video and instantly proclaimed proof of God, Christ and everything the church claimed. I pointed out it was a catholic priest in the video and my friend not being catholic. He said thats probably why the exocism didn't last more than 24hrs, he wasn't following the right religion.

18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: 19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; 20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. 21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
It certainly does say that a rebelious child shall be stoned to death. Not sure how many other ways to read that passage there can be?
