Straggler writes:
Sure. There is no evidence of the supernatural. On that we all seem to agree.
I'm not so sure I agree with that. I am down to the last few pages of Brian Greene's book
Hidden Reality.
This book is written for the general population but in the book he is clear that there is mathematical evidence for the multiverse, parallel universes, branes etc and for the idea that there is a connection between our own universe and others. He also supported John Wheeler's contention that the primary connection between all that is seen and unseen is "information".
He even conjectured that ultimately given enough time and computing power we humans could actually create a separate universe ourselves. In many ways the whole book showed a considerable congruence between science and philosophy including going back an drawing parallels with Plato's shadows.
It seems to me that empirical science more often that not is proceeded by mathematical evidence which is proceeded by theory born out of human imagination. At this point I think we might almost say that we have gone from human imagination to mathematical evidence for what we might consider supernatural, (without invoking any deity).Maybe in another 100, 1000 or million years from now what is now considered supernatural will just be known as an extension of our natural world.
He has told you, O man, what is good ; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God.
