Only a fool would judge anything by reviews.
This I have to agree with, though they are a clue.
Now I'm interested in hearing how to detect design and tell it from the kind of "design" but not intellgence driven that has been show to result from evolutionary processes. Can you put that in the other ID thread.
This one is about the distinction between creationism and ID.
All I've seen on that is that no one has agreed on the definitions.
If "creationism" is young earth, no commonality of ancestors ('specially for humans) etc. Then at least a lot of ID (as published) is not creationism.
However, if ID really is just insisting that a god of some form is mandatory for the origin of life or some specific magical steps of evolution then ID can be called a kind of creation.
That takes ID very close to theistic evolutionists views. But somehow they seem to want to be something different from them. What is the exact difference ID Man?
Can you specify exactly what you think ID is saying?
Here are some choices:
1) an intelligence (undefined) started this universe going at the big bang, nothing since.
2) an intelligence set the first life up with something built in to guide it's evolution
3) an intelligence occasionally intervenes in some undefined way to make specific steps of evolution happen
4) an intelligence was necessary to get from non-humans to humans
Can you tell me which you think it is?
And in all of these, does the intelligence have to be a god of any form? Can it be some hyper intelligent aliens? I'd sure want to see work done to find them.
