I think the intent is celebrating the birth of Jesus not the birthday. You might as well get uptight about the celebration of the New Year 12 days after the Winter Solstice.

And Easter is not the same day every year, it is the 1st Sunday, after the 1st full moon, after the Spring Equinox, I think.
