If you are experiencing problems in a discussion and require moderator assistance please post to Windsor castle.On this particular issue, my ruling is that math isn't required to discuss and understand the basic principles of thermodynamics unless claims are made that can only be explored mathematically.Also, given that this thread is not in a science forum, there is no requirement to support claims with evidence, but neither can scientific status be demanded for such claims.

I don't know how good a yardstick I am, but I couldn't derive 2LOT from first principles, either, and I don't think the request is reasonable. A more reasonable request would be to ask that the principles of 2LOT be understood.Edited by Admin, : Grammer.

Sorry I forgot to include the "Please, no replies," portion. I didn't intend to begin a dialogue.Requesting derivation of 2LOT from first principles is not a reasonable request. Requesting indications that the principles of 2LOT are understood is much more reasonable. This is not a science thread, so although you can point to internal inconsistencies, supernatural explanations are acceptable here. Perhaps you can convince Buzsaw to drop the God part of his position and reintroduce the topic as a science thread.Please, no replies.

There is little use to requesting math about thermodynamics or quantum physics from Buzsaw and ICANT. True, they don't understand the principles involved, but it isn't because they can't do the math. There are tons of people who also can't do the math (an example of whom is typing this message) but who understand the principles (he hopes).The request for math may score rhetorical points with the audience and pound home the fact that Buzsaw and ICANT truly have no idea what they're talking about (which make the dialogue between them all the more fascinating, if only from a psychological perspective), but if your goal is to convince them to question their views by getting them to examine what they can muster in support of them, then I don't believe requesting math is an effective route.Please, no replies.

I've been hoping I wouldn't have to intervene as moderator, but I'm beginning to detect rising frustration levels.
