But let's not get too far off in this direction since the thread is supposed to be about how life has degenerated since the Fall. Do you mean moral degeneration?

No, I'm talking about physical degeneration Oh, ok. But as a side note, do you beleive in gradual moral degeneration or would you say that people were rotten 2000 years ago and they are equally rotten today?

Re: Scripture is SO clear death came by Adam
yes and paul means what to me? In that case, why believe the author of Genesis? Why is Paul not believable but the author of Genesis is? I suggest you give up on the Bible altogether, and join me.

Re: Scripture is SO clear death came by Adam
You should know better than that. If you want to know Hemingway, do you read Hemingway or do you rely on other people's commentaries on Hemingway? What are you suggesting about the author of Genesis?

Re: IF I had a penny...
Adam and Eve could not know that it is wrong to disobey God until after they had eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Obviously they did know since He told them not to. They had an artificial moral system consisting of one rule: Do not eat from that tree. Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.

Re: IF I had a penny...
Not exactly. The situation was that God said do not eat from that tree or you will die It was a command, a moral rule--their only one.
Gen 3:11 And he said, who told thee that those wast naked? Has thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Gen 3:17: And unto Adam he said, because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life. Obviously, punishment is being handed out here. Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.

mjfloresta, when are we going to get that new thread on Biblical evidence for the Fall? Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.

Re: Paul spins another one.
they got kicked out from gods fear of them living forever! What is the relationship between the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil?

Re: Paul spins another one.
the tree of life is used as an object for why we arn't in eden and have to be out trying to survive and the other is for why people need to work tward being a good jew, to return to innocience that god wanted I was just wondering why God didn't worry about Adam and Eve eating from the Tree of Life until they ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Re: two trees
I have wondered the same thing. A relationship clearly exists. It sounds to me like the effect of the Tree of Life won't take unless you first eat from the Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil. Edited by robinrohan, : No reason given.
